Do Western Militaries Protect Soldiers Out of Morality or Cost Efficiency?

Do Western militaries, especially the US and NATO, actually design vehicles and prioritize force protection because they genuinely value their soldiers’ lives from a moral or professional standpoint? Or is the heavy investment in crew survivability driven more by practical calculation?
Training, recruiting, and developing a soldier particularly a specialized tank crew member is expensive and time-consuming.

Losing one means not just the human cost, but the need to replace that investment. Is the emphasis on safety mainly about protecting people, or about protecting the resources and combat power those people represent? Like compare these countries to Russia or China

Can a AIM-9X target vehicles?

Obviously, this weapon wasn’t intended for vehicles on the ground or to be used as an air to ground missile, but out of curiosity since it’s a heat seeking missile that tracks heat I was curious if it has the ability to target ground vehicles in one-way shape or form or even that a radar site or something along those lines I know it wouldn’t be really applicable, but I’ve always wondered if in a dire situation could it be an option?

Also, how effective would the missile be against a light vehicle like maybe little to no armor? It’s just a fun little question that I was wondering.

Delta Force operators VS Death Troopers

This is my last Star Wars vs soldiers

since last post I made was really interesting to see everyone split about it against two conventional forces, I want to touch on special operations side for both factions where death troopers are more trained and elite compared to regular stormtroopers and 300 comments were really debating this last post

Both sides consist of squad size of 10 in very short distance no more than 100 meters no plot armor and no external support.

World class operators vs Empires premier commandos

For those who don’t know:

Delta Force is the United States premier Tier one military unit and Is regarded the best the country has to offer

Death Troopers are the Galactic Empires most elite form of direct action storm troopers with extremely high specialized training

Cluster or HE on the HIMARS?

For reference the primary purpose for the HIMARS for me is to use it on enemy supply points like S-300 or where people are gathered but idk what would suit that best

How has Ukraine managed to handle many types of foreign equipment logistically?

I was just thinking about this right now realizing how many types of foreign armored vehicles and ammunition and missiles in artillery rounds that Ukraine has to manage and I was thinking how much of a logistical nightmare would be to repair a foreign tank with certain parts or replaced that with another vehicle same goes with ammunition or missiles. It would seem like such a burden. How has Ukraine managed to pull it off?

How In the world did the US Army approved the UCP camouflage uniform?

I genuinely shocks me how the US Army during the height of GWOT approved this pattern that blends in with little to very situational environments like snow or rocky terrain and even urban. Especially the fact that billions of dollars were allocated to this camo and went through many high ranking officials. How did they think this pattern would blend into the desert environment?

I think this feature would be neat

(I posted this idea a while back, but I’m just revisiting it since it’s been a long time)

Obviously, this isn’t really needed, but it’s more of just a cool thing to add to the game since there’s a lot of units in vehicles that individuals are not familiar with, and it gives the opportunity to learn and be educated on the vehicles and units, especially when we are going to receive Chinese units in the future and other foreign country units that may not be popularized.

Note: UI is trash in this exmaple but it’s still sets the foundation of the idea

Why does the US suck at implanting or creating a light tank for Airborne forces?

Im little puzzled how the US has yet to acquire an airborne tank ever since the sheridan and it feels like a capability that would seem nice to have for airborne forces. Is it just not effective in combat or controversial?
