It's only mentioned in Gotham Knights once - But Tim as a toddler/young child met and had his photo taken with Dick and his family the night John and Mary Grayson were murdered.

That night all members of the Flying Graysons performed a quadruple somersault which tiny Tim remembered - and years later would see Robin on the news performing the same feat and he realized Robin was Dick Grayson.

It was a very important first meeting for them both, and once Tim became Robin helped solidify one of the strongest relationships in the Batfam.

Thought it would be fun every so often to post about one of my favorite Batman comic series - Gotham Knights (Ha!). I honestly think the series helped solidify the modern concept of the Batfamily and was the reason we eventually got the Gotham Knights game & all those great Belfry moments.

This series ran from 2000 to 2006, focusing on Batman and his allies - Unfortunately Jason never made a cameo due to the fact he was still dead at the time (however he haunts the narrative). But over all it's a fantastic fix for your batfam needs.

Issue #1 takes places after an event called No Man's Land - after an earthquake almost destroyed the city the US government had closed the city off (and now Lex Luthor is running for president because of that).
Everything is almost back to status quo now if you ignore all the rubble constantly everywhere, and that Wayne Manor has been destroyed.

The story starts with the murder of a senator and his wife, they are survived by their young child - which as you can imagine hits close to home for Bruce.
Leading suspects are members of Xhosa gang who were squatting in the senator's home during No Man's Land when the family managed to flee the city. Once he returned the gang members became homeless.

Tim however feels Batman is taking the case too personally, so he calls Dick from Bludhaven to help out - Bruce won't budge on the case and poor Tim, Alfred and Babs are caught in-between their fighting.

We also get a cool little photo cameo from Helena (Huntress).

I LOVE this issue, it's funny, sad and heartfelt and the writing is top notch.

What if gotham knights got a dlc were we play as batman a flashback or prequal would that have been interesting. Like were batman first starts to investigate the court of owls or something else what do you think

Comic readers, do you remember how insanely buff Dick Grayson used to be in the 80s and 90s? What if he stayed that way and we also had Ginger Jason from 2009?

Weirdly Gotham Knights Jason looks most like the version we see in Hush - which keeps flipflopping in canon as to whether it was Jason or Clayface

In case this jogs anyone's memories, here's the artists similar Robin art

In case anyone doesn't know, once you are in New Game + you can switch character you're playing in the tutorial by using heroic assault to change.
It means in the end credits you can have a different Knight show up for this part of the game, which isn't a feature in the first playthough.

Honestly Jason appearance in this game has grown on me massively, I've always been annoyed by comics where he looks identical to every other black haired character, and this design really works well for his character arc.

Just wondering if anyone has ever waited till the final level of the game to play the graveyard cutscene with Nightwing?

I like doing it because the background changes to reflect the plot - So Nightwing says "I got this Bruce" just before going to confront Talia.

Just feels like a nice storytelling detail.
