Hey everyone,
I’m a 3rd-year Production and Industrial Engineering student planning to start my GATE 2027 - ME preparation from the first week of May. I’d really appreciate some honest advice from people who have already gone through this process..
- Is my preparation timeline realistic for getting a good score?
My rough plan is to dedicate most of May–July (summer break) almost fully to GATE prep to build strong fundamentals. From August to October I’ll be in placement season, so I may only be able to manage \~1–2 hours a day alongside placement preparation. Then from November onwards, I plan to resume more serious and consistent preparation until the exam.
For context, by a good score I mean something that could realistically help a general male candidate get into Good IITs or top NITs for Mechanical or Industrial Engineering. Does this timeline sound reasonable, or am I underestimating the preparation required?
