Is my gameboy dead after 23 years?

I was just playing Pokemon Sapphire and the console made a glitchy sound and froze, it has done this before but I could just restart it and continue with what I was doing. Is it time to buy a new one? My mother bought this brand new back in 2003 it's the front lit version

I can't get him to lay in the fan even though it's been 90+ all week

He avoids my fan every single time I put him in it to maybe cool down but he chooses to lay on the tile floor which isn't that cold. How can I help him through the heat since I think it should possibly go down by saturday
