Anyone else's reading speed gotten worse over time? (subtitles especially)
I have a hard time reading subtitles in shows or anime. Subtitles don't wait for you the way a book does, so this is where it's most obvious. But it bleeds into reading in general too.
I get stuck on words, terms, or concepts that are unfamiliar or that I've just... forgotten. So I end up pausing or rewinding constantly, or opening Google mid-episode to look something up. By the time I come back I've lost the thread of the scene.
Even when I do look a word up, I usually forget it again. Then it pops up later and I have to search it again because I'm not sure I remember it right. It feels like it never actually sticks.
Watching dubs only is somehow worse for me, I think because I lose focus without something to read along with. Dub+sub together works better, but it's rare to find that option.
Watching with other people is its own thing too. I get jealous seeing them read faster or retain what happened way easier than I do. Makes me feel like I'm the only one struggling with something this basic.
The part that bothers me most is that this isn't new, but it's gotten worse over time, not better. Anyone else experience this? Did anything actually help, with subtitles specifically or with reading speed/retention in general?

BSIT or BSN, I genuinely cannot decide and it's been going on for weeks
I'm about to enroll in college and I am stuck in a limbo of decisions. I'm an extremely indecisive person, I think it might be because of my self-diagnosed AuDHD. I've done a lot of research on it and I'm pretty confident about it, I just can't get a real diagnosis yet because of my parents.
So here's the situation. I originally chose BSIT because I kinda like technology — I'm the "tech person" in the family, though I don't really go that deep into it. Passed the entrance exam. Then while waiting for enrollment I got "bored" and started thinking maybe I'm not really cut out for it.
So I took the BSN entrance exam. My original choice was actually psychology but my parents prohibited it (they said it would make me a psychopath or something lol). They really encouraged nursing so I thought whatever, it's somewhat close. Passed that exam too.
Now I'm waiting for both enrollments and I'm back to thinking BSIT again because I'm worried my AuDHD might affect my performance in nursing. I don't know anymore.
My indecisiveness is exhausting and I know it affects the people around me too. Has anyone been in a similar situation? Which would you pick and why
I can't watch shows smoothly.
I'm a suspecting AuDHD person. I just want to ask if any of you also experience this.
You see, every time I watch a show — most of the time, anime — I can't watch it smoothly because there are too many distractions.
One, there are too many itchy parts on my body. Not really fungal-like itchy, just random itches that mostly happen when I need to focus on something, like watching an anime.
Second, I get distracted by words I don't understand, or words I understood before but forgot the meaning of, so I usually watch the show with a separate window for a dictionary app or Google to look up words faster. I usually watch with subs, so I always notice the words. I feel like I can't go on watching if I don't completely understand them. I tried watching with dubs before. It removed the "word" problem, but I also have problems with auditory processing. I can hear the words, but not clearly. For Japanese words or names specifically, I don't feel satisfied when I can hear the words but don't know how they're spelled.
I feel like I got robbed of my entertainment because it's not only applicable to watching shows — also playing games and my other hobbies. I feel like I need to understand everything before doing a thing.
Help.

Constantly checking your pockets.
Do any of you also do this? Everytime. No. All the time I'm awake I would constantly check my pants pockets. I don't even have a logical reason why I do this. It's getting annoying and I just can't seem to stop this habit. I think I do this because I'm always worried maybe I will lose or forget the things in my pockets. It distracts and calms me at the same time.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Lite vs. iPad (A16) — Help me decide
My parents are buying me a tablet for college (nursing). I was given a choice between a tablet and a laptop, and I went with the tablet because I want to try digital drawing and I think it'll be better for portability.
Now I'm torn between the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Lite and the iPad with an A16 chip, and I can't seem to make a concrete decision.
Why I'm considering the iPad:
-It seems more popular — most of my classmates use one, and admittedly, I want to fit in
-I've heard it has significantly better performance than the Samsung
-I actually prefer the squarish aspect ratio of the iPad
I like the feel of the Apple Pencil's nib over the S Pen's
Why I'm leaning toward the Samsung:
-I've used Android my entire life, so I'm already comfortable with the ecosystem
-I sideload apps and pirate sometimes, which Android makes easy
-I love the idea of DeX mode since I multitask a lot
My use case:
-I want a tablet that'll last me until I graduate. I use it mainly for gaming, watching anime, reading manga, and occasional digital drawing. For multitasking, I often need split-screen — like having manga/anime open alongside a browser tab for looking up words (I have ADHD, so I get distracted by unknown terms mid-read)
My questions:
-Is switching from Android to iOS difficult? Would it feel too limiting?
-Can the iPad handle proper split-screen multitasking?
-Is the iPad A16 worth the extra cost — especially factoring in that I'd still need to buy an Apple Pencil separately to draw effectively?
Any advice is appreciated!
This is maybe weird... I'm also not sure if it's related to my AUDHD. It's just that I have this urge to have — or treasure — a single object (it has to be only one, for some reason) that I will keep forever, or even one that will outlive me, and that will represent my identity in a way. It often changes. First, it was a small, smooth, and perfectly spherical stone I found on the shore. But then I soon realized that it could get broken or lost, since it's just a fragile and small stone. I then changed it to my favorite mechanical pencil, since I liked drawing with it, then changed it to something wearable — so that I can keep it close to me always — my Casio watch, then realized that the battery will run out soon, and even if I manage to replace the battery, it will still degrade and break. I don't know... There's much more. It's really weird. I did all of this despite knowing nothing lasts forever.
