Does IEM (Industrial Engineering & Management) get allowed for software roles during campus placements?
Hey everyone, I’m seriously considering taking up the IEM branch, but my ultimate goal is to land a software/tech role.
I know branch eligibility varies a lot depending on the company, but I wanted to get some realistic insights from seniors who’ve actually been through the grind:
- Do most tech companies actually let IEM folks sit for their online coding tests, or do they just filter us out at the door?
- Which specific types of companies (product, fintech, service-based) are usually chill about allowing non-CS branches?
- What kind of CGPA cutoff should I aim for to make sure I don't get blocked by the placement cell?
Appreciate any advice or honest brutal truths. Thanks!
