Does IEM (Industrial Engineering & Management) get allowed for software roles during campus placements?

Hey everyone, I’m seriously considering taking up the IEM branch, but my ultimate goal is to land a software/tech role.

I know branch eligibility varies a lot depending on the company, but I wanted to get some realistic insights from seniors who’ve actually been through the grind:

  1. Do most tech companies actually let IEM folks sit for their online coding tests, or do they just filter us out at the door?
  2. Which specific types of companies (product, fintech, service-based) are usually chill about allowing non-CS branches?
  3. What kind of CGPA cutoff should I aim for to make sure I don't get blocked by the placement cell?

Appreciate any advice or honest brutal truths. Thanks!
