Is this just a tachometer malfunction?

Just picked up this FA5 about a week and a half ago now and I noticed something kinda weird. The vtec in this car engages at 4400rpm and revs to about 8700rpm according to the tachometer. I messaged the previous owner about this and he said the car had never been tuned and the only thing that is done to it is an injen intake (does not require a tune like others) and some hasport motor mounts, it even still has the stock exhaust. Does anybody know what could cause this and should I refrain from taking it to redline? If I remember right aren’t these cars supposed to engage vtec around 5500 rpm and limiter is at 7800-8000?

Best looking wheels for FA5 in 17x9 +35?

Really wanting to get some new wheels on my FA5 and ditch the heavy and weak XXR’s and switch to a 17x9 +35 to fit a 245/40r17 and will take track abuse. I’ve been thinking of going with the old reliable silver enkei rpf1 since I’ve always loved the look on these cars but if anyone else has some more recommendations I’d love to hear and see them.

First 8th gen si and having an absolute blast

Car certainly has some things I need to address (like the +0.4 degrees of camber in the front and -3 degrees in the rear) but it’s a great start and I can’t wait to turn it into an autocross/track monster

My Isuzu hombre race truck build and future plans

What started out as a basic lowered street truck got out of hand pretty quick when I went to my first autocross event and found out how much potential the chassis had. The truck was already a monster in its last iteration with just about every single front suspension mod imaginable keeping stock control arm lengths and mounting points for class rules but unfortunately the stock Chevy s10 2.2 finally had enough and blew so I figured I’d do a full overhaul on the truck. Got a hold of some c4 corvette irs and a Honda k24 (the lightest engine option I could find with heaps of horsepower potential) that I am allowed to push 10 inches back from its original position. Only “problem” I will have is needing to widen the front control arms 10 inches to match the rear corvette suspension so might as well do a wide body with 315 wide tires on all 4 corners and a partial tube chassis.

Worth 6k or too much?

Thinking about selling my 91 Accord LX, chassis has nearly 460k miles on original odometer. There is a good bit of cosmetic damage (small-medium dents) and the paint from the front fenders back is not ideal.

Just ordered this OBX header and downpipe/flex pipe for my 91 accord and I was wondering if the down pipe fits our cars. The header is originally for a 92-96 Honda prelude with the non vtec h23a1 engine using the same exhaust manifold flange as the f22a platform. I know the header will fit with no issues but is the down pipe the same length as ours? I did some looking and saw that the flange that meets up with the CAT is oriented the same as ours is, I just have no way to get the measurements until it arrives.

I only really have experience with 200tw tires in autocross so I don’t know what to expect with these 320tw kumho ecsta sport ps72’s. I’d like to mention this is my daily/ canyon car and I’m wanting to autocross it because my truck (autocross build) is down for a while and I’m itching to get back out and smack some cones 😆. My main worry is these tires chunking or separating if I push them too hard so if anyone has experience with these tires I’d very much appreciate some info
