Do granny square tote bags sag when you put things in them?

I'm new to crocheting and thinking of making a granny square tote bag soon (like this https://vivcrochets.com/granny-square-bag-free-pattern-video-tutorial/ ).

My question before I start though is this: Can you put things like a notebook, wallet, phone, toiletries, etc. in one of these types of granny square totes without the bag sagging too much? Would I have to line it to ensure it doesn't get stretched out over time? Is there a type of yarn that would be better for more structure?

Thanks y'all !

Winter running brand recs

I’ve searched the sub and read many posts about tips for winter running, which have been really helpful. I started running in the spring and am gearing up a half in December (northeast United States).
Curious if anyone has holy grail brands (or ones they would avoid entirely) for winter running gear.

TIA!

When your "body type" doesn't match your "style sense"

I tried searching for this in previous posts but didn't have luck - sorry if it's been asked before!

What are folks' thoughts on when the style of clothes you're drawn to don't necessarily "fit" your body type? For example, I am a classic hourglass shape, sometimes leaning towards pear if my weight fluctuates. However, when I'm looking at fashion inspo pics I am drawn to things like straight lines, oversized blazers, and other clothes that simply do not look flattering on my body. Clothes that define my waist just make me feel uncomfy in my body. I'm not asking for personal advice on how to pick clothes, I'm interested in hearing peoples' thoughts on how they approach when their preferred style choices are unflattering on them.

TIA.

This is an X train running on the Y line

Maybe a silly question, but how come it’s “This is an N train running on the R line” and the like instead of just saying it’s an R train now? I’m sure there’s very good reasons for why they do what they do lol but I’ve always wondered!

Not sure if this counts but it’s delicious

I lurk here sometimes but don’t live the med diet 100% of the time. Lentils, steamed beets, cucumber, feta, and an improvised dressing of tahini, soy sauce, ACV, and EVOO. So savory and satisfying. And no stove needed during the heat

How did we all feel about Shred?

This is my first year with Ladder - I have been through 2026's Reset, Baseline, and now Shred. I've did half of Reset with Transform, then switched to Ascend. Personally, I found Transform too "influencer-y" and really enjoyed my switch to Ascend. Did all of Baseline with Align and really enjoyed it, so I stayed with Align for Shred.

Shred so far has been my least favorite of the series so far this year. I found I really preferred Reset and Baseline's strength focus to Shred's more cardio focus (at least on Align). I found it incredibly hard to motivate myself to go to the gym during Shred, and I think it mostly had to do with the workouts that were programmed. They just weren't my jam. And it's my understanding that the summer series will be similar? I've switched to Thrive last week and have liked it but it still doesn't quite scratch the itch.

Curious how other people felt about Shred! Everyone's different, so I'm sure some people love it!

How do you deal with poopy butts? (13)

My senior kitty (13 years old) has pretty bad arthritis and she's stopped cleaning her butt like she used to - pretty gross, but now there is some caked on poo stuck to the hair back there. What have other cat owners done when your cat can no longer clean themselves back there? Thanks in advance for answering this stinky question

I occasionally get migraines with aura, which means I cannot take birth control containing estrogen (the combo pill, nuvaring, or the patch).

I developed PMDD while on the mirena (hormonal) IUD, was diagnosed when I went off birth control after that.

I’m currently on a norethindrone, which is a progesterin-only pill. I tried Slynd before norethindrone and immediately got terrible headaches, nausea, and negative libido. I’ve been on this pill since October and for the last 3 months I’ve had irregular bleeding, cramps throughout the month, missed periods, bloating, acne, and fatigue.

I’m at a loss of what to do next. The constant cramps and bleeding is exhausting and the missed periods extends my PMDD symptoms and makes it all very unpredictable. A new gyno said that I’m out of options other than the implant or the depo shot. The depo shot I’m very terrified of because it’s a three month dose and once it’s in there, it’s in there. The implant she said can make PMDD worse but she has patients who have seen improvement. Psychologically I’m not sure I can handle the weight gain associated with the implant.

I’m desperately asking if anyone has been in a similar situation. I did so well on the combo pill, I miss it! Pregnancy is not an option I am entertaining. I could go off birth control but the idea of an accidental pregnancy is terrifying with the associated hormonal changes from pregnancy and then abortion.

Thanks for reading

Not trying to be shady. What do people mean in this subreddit or in the app chats when they say "X type of workout gives me inflammation" or "X contributed to my inflammation"? Are you running a fever? Are you physically inflamed or puffy? Are you getting blood tests testing your C-Reactive Protein? What do you mean?

Just a rant.

I’ve decided to avoid the Align chat for this series apart from Sasha’s updates because I’m genuinely at my limit with weight loss talk. I know that lots of people work out to lose weight and I respect that. But with Shred coming up it’s really ramped up, and I already feel like glp1 and weight loss is being shoved down women’s throats. My gym is pushing glp1s. My *dermatologist* is pushing glp1s! They are amazing drugs for people who need them but it feels like the early 2000s again. And seeing everyone’s goals for Shred being to lose inches or see the scale budge or stay in a caloric deficit is just exhausting. I’m not someone who’s ever had a history of disordered eating but ~society~ is really kicking my ass right now.

Not sure if anyone relates! Just wanted to rant xx
