I am planning to buy an Iphone 16 Plus 256GB from Verizon but I am paying outright becuase I have a credit on my credit card from a purchase that it did not shipped and I was refunded $500. I am going to purchase full price from VZ and that way when it post to my credit card account the price will be lower because it will be deducted from my $500 credit that I was refunded from a purchase that did not ship. I want to know will Verizon unlock the phone the same day after I paid fully? Before I remember if you purchase it outright and you are on postpaid you have to wait 60 days. Did Verizon change their policy and now they can unlock the phone the same day when you purchase it outright? This is for POSTPAID.

Hi Everyone,

On May 1, 2026 I went to 2 Stone Street to a refund and it has expired. Well 4 weeks later today May 29,2026 they sent me a letter and before I opened the letter I felt something was hard. When I opened the letter I was shocked to see an OMNY card. I though they would need my new credit card number to refund becuase one of the 30 day unlimited Metro Card I bought it with a Visa card but I lost the credit so I had to that replaced. I though the letter was going to say we can't refund it becuase your old credit is invalid so please give us your new credit card number so we can refund it. They keep saying if you have an expired 30 day Unlimited Metro card we CAN'T transfer your funds to an OMNY card becuase there is no 30 day cap OMNY card. and we will refund to your credit card. Well this is sure a surprise to me.

The letter states below:

This is in response to your claim regarding your Metro Card(s). Since the MTA is transitioning from Metro Card to OMNY, we will no longer be issuing MetroCard.

Our investigation indicates that the card you returned to us was a 30-Day Unlimited Metro Card and not the Regular Metro Card you intended to purchase.

We are therefore, enclosing an OMNY card in the amount of $132.00.

I just got this from the MTA about the 7 train changes during May and there is "sort of express" going to Manhattan for 2 weeks MAY 11- MAY 22.

Plan ahead for 7 line service changes in May

There will be planned services changes along the 7 line this month and through 2027 while we make station improvements and accessibility upgrades. Here's what you need to know.

Weekends, May 8-11 and May 22-25

7 trains aren't running between 74 St-Broadway in Queens and 34 St-Hudson Yards in Manhattan in either direction during two weekends in May:

• From 11:30 p.m. Friday, May 8 to 3:30 a.m. Monday, May 11
• From 11:30 p.m. Friday, May 22 to 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 25

The travel alternatives for those weekends are as follows:

• Free shuttle buses will run along three routes:
  • T320 between 74 St-Broadway and Queensboro Plaza, making local 7 train stops.
  • T323 between Queensboro Plaza and Vernon Blvd-Jackson Av, making local 7 train stops.
  • T260 overnight in Manhattan between Times Sq-42 St and 34 St-Hudson Yards
• For travel between Queens and Manhattan, take the E,F,R trains or LIRR.
  • S 42 Street Shuttle will run overnight.
  • E train service runs more frequently during days and evenings.
  • LIRR will accommodate subway riders traveling between Queens and Manhattan for no additional cost at Flushing, Mets-Willets Point, Woodside, Grand Central Madison, and Penn Station. Check LIRR service and schedules. (FREE LIRR)
• From May 8-11, Flushing-bound trains will skip 82 St, 90 St, 103 St, and 111 St.
  • For service to skipped stations, take the 7 train to Junction Blvd or Mets-Willets Point and transfer to a Manhattan-bound 7 train.
  • For service from skipped stations, take the 7 train to Junction Blvd or 74 St-Broadway and transfer to a Flushing-bound 7 train.
• 7 trains are running between ‌Flushing-Main St and 74 St-Broadway (the last stop), every 8 minutes during the day and evening from May 8-11 and every 10 minutes during the day and evening from May 22-25.

May 11-22 (Going Express sort of) Manhattan bound 7 trains only

From 3:01 a.m. Monday, May 11 through Friday, May 22, Manhattan-bound 7 trains will skip 69 St, 52 St, 46 St-Bliss St, and 33 St-Rawson St in Queens.

• For service to/from bypassed stations, use nearby 74 St-Broadway, Woodside-61 St, or 40 St-Lowery St stations.
  • For service to skipped stations, take the 7 train to ‌Woodside-61 St, 40 St-Lowery St or Queensboro Plaza and transfer to a Flushing-bound 7 train.
  • For service from skipped stations, take the 7 train to 40 St-Lowery St, Woodside-61 St or 74 St-Broadway and transfer to a Manhattan-bound 7 train.
• All trains at Woodside-61 St will board from the Flushing-bound platform. There will be a temporary platform located at 40 St-Lowery St.

Starting May 25

From 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 25 through 2027, 7 Flushing-bound trains will skip 52 St and 69 St in Queens.

• For service to/from bypassed stations, use nearby 46 St-Bliss St, Woodside-61 St, or 74 St-Broadway stations.
  • For service to skipped stations, take the 7 train to ‌to Woodside-61 St or 74 St-Broadway and transfer to a Manhattan-boundtrain.
  • For service from skipped stations, take the 7 train to 46 St-Bliss St or Woodside-61 St and transfer to a Flushing-bound 7 train.
• All 7 trains at Woodside-61 St will board from the Manhattan-bound platform. There will be temporary platforms located at 33 St-Rawson St, 40 St-Lowery St, and 46 St-Bliss St.
• During rush hours, Manhattan-bound 7 express trains will run local from 74 St-Broadway to Queensboro Plaza. Flushing-bound 7 trains will run local from Queensboro Plaza to 61 St-Woodside, skipping 74 St-Broadway.

What we're doing

We're making critical platform and accessibility improvements at several stations along the 7 line in Queens to provide riders with a more accessible and reliable commute. This work includes full station renewals and state-of-good-repair work from Woodside to Corona and protection for the Steinway Tube to help restore 7 service more quickly after flood events.
