Win for the week

This week's win wasn't anything big, but it felt important to me i've been putting off something for a while because it seemed like it would take forever. I finally sat down, worked through it one step at a time and finished it. It wasn't perfect but it was done and that felt a lot better than leaving it on my to-do list. It's funny how the hardest part is sometimes just getting started.

Reflection

I was cleaning out my backpack today and found a note i'd written to myself a few months ago. It listed a bunch of things i wanted to get better at. I smiled because i'd completely forgotten about it but a handful are actually completed without me realizing. Sometimes it's hard to realize you've accomplished so much when you're thinking of what you have yet to do. I wondered how often we forget to acknowledge our progress when it comes in baby steps.

What is something you have done lately, that you're most likely proud of, that you wouldn't have been able to claim a year ago?

Budget Breakdown - Where did my money go

I considered myself to have fairly controlled my finances in the month. I didn't have to start out with the big purchases so I thought I would still have money on hand So I drew up a list of all the money I used during one week. It appears that it was the little things that were piling up a lot more than they should. A snack after work, a couple of drinks at the store, and a stop at the store. I wasn't upset or anything. When it finally got written i was like what I'm moving away from putting a firm lid on a few smaller items in my budget rather than trying to make it go away
Has anyone else had a moment where tracking your spending changed how you looked at your money?

How can parents prepare kids for an AI future?

My kid sister who is 13 uses AI sometimes for homework and school project but i don't just let her copy the answers directly. i asked her to explain what she learned and how to use it to her own advantage and also check if it actually made sense. I think that’s a good way to prepare kids and teenagers for the future letting them explore AI while still teaching them to be curious and think for themselves.

How did you earn your first income?

My first income was actually from helping people around my neighbourhood during my summer break. I was probably around 16, I started doing small things like helping with groceries, cleaning services and watering plants when people go out of town It wasn’t a lot of money, but I remember feeling so proud when I got paid because it was the money I earned myself. What was your first source of income, and how did you earn it?

What's the smartest purchase you made as a teenager?

My first real purchase as a teenager was a science fiction novel. I remember standing in the shop debating if I should save the money instead, It wasn’t fancy or anything just that I love science fiction stories and I really wanted to read because my friend has talked about that particular novel in school. Looking back now, it was probably one of my smartest purchases because it fed my love for reading and didn’t feel like a waste at all.

What future jobs will AI create for today's kids?

My younger brother was using AI to help design a game character and kept changing the instructions until it finally looked right. Watching him I was wondering if it will actually be a future job. maybe kids today will grow up to be AI trainers, AI game testers, or people who make sure AI gives accurate answers. What future AI job do you think today's kids will have?
