cmd + shift + K has become my default way of using the browser now :D. - slightly proud dev

i built this extension because i wanted my browser to feel more efficient without having to remember every shortcut.

been using it myself for a while and i’m kind of proud of it.

i figured there are other people who extensively use the browser too. if that sounds like you and you feel like trying it out, i’d honestly love more people to use it and tell me if it’s actually useful outside my own setup. it's compatible with all Chromium browsers, and works best on Chrome or Brave.

I'm trying my best to get out of the grind by building my own things and this is the first step

Working at corporate never felt productively fulfilling for me, so I used to always build little tools to help me out with it. A few years down the line, I realised I could maaybe do it full-time?

Anyway, I made an extension for productivity for others like me who would like absolute control over their browser because there everyday browser looks like drowning in tabs and having an unorganised workflow. Sometimes you have no idea which tab the music is from.

Do you think you would like to give it a try?

I think sharing the tracklist early could give away too much about the album too early, hence the singles being rolled out first

Since Olivia revealed that the album is a story, I feel like sharing the tracklist before the singles could mean the story is revealed earlier than she would like, hence the delay in sharing the tracklist. I personally like it that the suspense it being held until the end. What do you guys think?

I'm seeing people share that removing the free plan or asking for credit card information right during login is helping them convert more users into their apps/ extensions because users take the product more seriously like that. Do you agree with that?

I built a Raycast-like productivity extension, and have shared it on this sub before. It does require signing up but offers a one-month free trial, which I happily extend to those who want to test it out for a bit longer. I thought it was only the right way to go, but hearing people talk about how it may not be it is confusing me and I wanted to ask you all what would feel the best for you. Do you honestly think keeping a paywall right at the start would encourage you to use it better or take it more seriously as the others say?

Any productivity freaks on this sub who would like to try out a new tool to optimise their browsing experience? It's free for a month, and I am willing to extend the trial if you would like to test it out for a bit longer.

I am a no-mouse no-trackpad person who wants to have a quick and easy browser experience all the time. Since I couldn't find anything I liked for this, i built one. It's a command palette for the browser and called Conduktor (much like conducting the browser experience i thought).

Would you please consider trying it out and see if it helps your browser experience genuinely? If this is not for you, please do share it with someone you think might love it.

I've personally been using it for a month and like how easy and efficient it makes browsing for me.

On what grounds are BMC accounts suspended?

I have gone through the terms and conditions, and my account suspension seems to fall under none of those, and comes without any prior warning. What's worse is the absolute lack of interest in trying to communicate the issue.

Buy Me A Coffee has turned out to be such scamsters, I am extremely disheartened

I had received 4 BMC donations for my extension which I had posted about recently on this sub. It was for my YouTube extension called Sidesy, and it has absolutely nothing that can qualify as illegal or scam. When I decided it was finally some significant money to withdraw and requested a credit into my account, they flagged my account for "risk concerns" and have said they will be refunding it back to supporters - I have no way of knowing if they will even do that.

The customer support is dodging questions, and avoiding helping. Please stay careful of the platform.

Brought my favourite feature in Arc to Chromium browsers

I had, for a long time, wished for something that allowed controlling the browser instead of managing it.

Although Arc had the command palette, I kept coming back to Chrome/Brave.

The Press a shortcut -> type what you want -> get it done part has been my fav, so I built a Chrome extension that adds an Arc-style command palette to Chromium browsers.

You can:

  • search and jump to any tab across windows
  • group tabs quickly
  • switch context without hunting visually
  • find the tabs playing audio
  • and more, basically treat the browser like an app launcher

I built it for people like me who would rather not use the mouse or trackpad at all and just use the keyboard.

Would love for you to share your thoughts on it. Is it something you would try?

Here's the link if you're interested. It requires signing up (no credit card though), and offers a one-month free trial, which I am happy to extend if you'd like to try out for a bit longer.

Anyone here who managed to find users for their niche productivity tool?

I am looking for help on this. Any suggestions on where to find the right people? Much thanks in advance!

Anyone here who was pleasantly surprised by how well their extension was received?

I had built a scratch-your-itch extension about three years ago, perfected it, and uploaded on Chrome and Mozilla, unsure if I'd even get a handful of people to install it. To my surprise, when I checked it out a few months ago, it had about 3k users. Totally unexpected.

Being an ads-free, and overall free project probably added to it, but I was left pleasantly surprised and make sure to update it all the time. Brings me a lot of joy, even if not significant money (a couple of kind strangers did leave a small tip).

I thought sharing it here was important, if it gives anyone the confidence to just put it out there. : )

You can check it out here: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/sidesy-your-comments-side/mlceikceecooilkgiikkopipedhjjech

What the extension does: Lets you read YouTube comments while watching the video at the same time, by moving it to the right side.

Raycast, but for your browser. Would you like it?

What if you could just type and get things done on the browser? I wanted to make it and see for myself, and after a month, I like how efficient it makes the browser experience for me.

Is it something that would interest you?

If you'd like to try, below is the link. It requires signing up (no credit card) and has a free one month trial, but I'm happy to extend it if you'd like to try for longer.

Fellow coders who would like smoother workflows and fewer small frictions, I built this one for you

Sometime back, this thought popped in my head about how cool it would be to just search and get things done on your browser, much like Raycast. Although I learned that newer browsers are building upon it, Chrome doesn't have it, atleast not yet. So I built it by myself. It's called Conduktor.

What it does - It launches a Spotlight-style command bar for your browser where you can group tabs, jump around, find the tab playing music, or locate anything across windows in a blink.

I built it for people like me who are organisation freaks, who would rather not use the mouse/ trackpad at all, and would like absolute speed when using Chrome. Would love for you all to give it a try. Or please do pass it along to someone you think might like it. : )

I use the Spotlight feature in Mac a lot, so I decided to bring something similar to my browser as well

Browsers don’t really have something like that, so I made an extension for it. It launches a Spotlight-style command bar for your browser where you can group tabs, jump around, find the tab playing music, or locate anything across windows in a blink.

I built it for people like me who are organisation freaks, who do not like using the mouse much, and would like any and all browser action done instantly! Would love for you to give it a try. Or please do pass it along to someone you think might like it. : )

Here's the link to it.

If there was anything I could do about it...

..it was to build Conduktor. Didn't help with the cat's mind, but it 100% decluttered his browser space with just the keyboard.

Benji (the cat) is surely loving it:

Please do try and let me know if you are too!

Could we help market each other's projects?

Was browsing this sub and realised I’ve seen a few projects here that I may know potential users for, among my own friends and family. Made me think this is probably true for a lot of us.

Instead of everyone trying to market solo, why don’t we just help each other out? You help someone here find users, someone else tries and does the same for you.

Drop your extension name, link, and what it does below. If you spot something you know people who’d use, share it with them. Maybe we can all help each other get a few real users this way.

Got my first Buy Me a Coffee payment for my first extension AND I launched my second one!

I built this extension a couple of years ago as a side project, and later added the buy me a coffee bit hesitantly. But won't lie, even if it's just $5, it gives me great joy.

I currently have 4k active users and update the extension regularly.

What the extension does: It's called Sidesy, a YouTube comments sidebar that moves your comments to the top right of the screen, so you can watch the video and read the comments at the same time.

To anyone on the start of their building journeys, I'd say just go for it. It'll be worth it! If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

Also, I have built another one that's still very new, please do check out and let me know your thoughts! It's a Spotlight/Raycast-style launcher for Chrome browser actions, for productivity geeks - completely search powered, and offers a one-month free trial. It's called Conduktor!
