UPDATE: An AFTN outage resulted in delays with flight plan filing, it’s since been resolved but delays may persist while the backlog clears. Ground stop cancelled.

Expect significant delays this evening due to high air traffic demand / possible staffing shortages. Tier 2 ground stop for the next 1.5-2 hours due to apron gridlock. Departures by all airlines are delayed leading to very limited gate space. at least a dozen aircraft waiting 30+ minutes on gates.

A major fire investigation is underway at an apartment building near the Nelson Ave / Lakeshore intersection which has traffic blocked in both directions. Tons of traffic diverting north. Hope everyone involved is okay.
