[actives] too soon for s2b? I have surgery tomorrow

Two jars of ochra inoculated 6/4. I am 100% sure that these are patches and is not bacteria. The rest of the jars are inoculated, photos show the single patch in each jar.

Would best bet be to use a isoed metal spoon to scoop out the uncolonized grain and do rest S2B or would it be best to wait the 2ish weeks before I’ll be able to do it again.

Surgery is tomorrow, so I’m running out of time for this cultivation!

[Actives] Tamp spawn contam?

Was incubated by a sclerotia. Waited till 20% to break and shake and the ball was very hard to break up. When it started growing back, it’s a different hue than what I was expecting. I understand that it could be bruising, but I’ve never had spawn that bruises after break and shake with the new growth if that makes sense.

So am I sol?

Onyx Boox P6 Pro in US

What sims would work for US on the P6 Pro? I currently got Verizon and I am looking at getting the phone because I like the black and white nature of it. I would get the Palma 2 pro if it was B&W.

[Actives] Did I get gypped?

I bought this ochra spore isolate from a popular vendor and it came perfectly clear. Is that normal?

Tried inoculating some grain and it’s been 6 days with no visible growth. Swings between 73 and 82 degrees.

Edit: understand that there is a racist slur in the title. Have learned and won’t use again

[Actives] Grain too dry?

I threw in a Tamp sclerotia into a grain jar. This is after 3 days at 70-75° which I know is a little on the low side. Does it look like the grain is too dry and the mycelium is not going to grow past the sclerotia? Am I just impatient as it’s only been 3 days? How long like this till I should stop worrying?

“Work your way up!”

I’m a nontraditional student who has gone from 10+ years of being a Lead Guide for a rafting company to having a MS in Applied Math and have been having bad luck with the current job market.

I’ve been listening to others and have been trying what they say. One of the most common recommendations has been, “Apply to lower down positions that you over qualify for. Companies love hiring internally and you’ll have better luck working your way up from the inside.” So I have been doing that.

For the last two months, I have been interviewing at a big Aerospace facility for a “Tour Guide” position and I was honest in the interviews that I’d like to work my way up internally to be able to use the degree that I spent 6 years and a bunch of money on. I shared that I am happy to use my previous professional experience as a Lead Guide for the “Tour Guide” position to get my foot in the door with that company. I am happy to do a job that isn’t related to my degree to show a company that I have a strong worth ethic and can be a valuable member of the team.

The recruiter that I was in contact with was telling me that I’m an ideal candidate as I have 10+ years of guiding experience and a Masters in STEM. The requirements for that position is a GED with preference of 6+ months of guiding experience and ideally an associate or bachelor in STEM. The interviews went great from both ends and the recruiter told/encouraged me to end/put in my 2 weeks to the current contract that I am on since I’m an “ideal candidate” for this position.

Boy, I am so happy I did not listen to the recruiter on ending my current contract before having the offer in hand. I got the rejection letter today saying that they are going with a different candidate. I asked for feedback and they said that they didn’t want to set me up for disappointment trying to use that position as leverage to transfer internally. They didn’t use those exact words, but it they heavily implied that working my way up that company most likely wouldn’t come to fruition from that tour guide position.

What a time to be alive and looking for a job in STEM. I legit feel like I waisted a ton of time and money on my education since it feels as if my applications are getting lost in the void. Not really sure how to land a professional job and it feels like I’m landing on my face trying what friends, family, and even recruiters recommend me doing to make myself more noticeable in this job market.

Thanks for listening to my rant.

Edit: an hour and a half from the rejection letter I got reached out by a recruiter for the exact position that they just rejected me from. What a time to be alive…

Not to smoking, but to my puffco pro guardian. I don’t use her enough anymore to justify keeping her and I have a friend who is the buyer. We agreed upon $450 for the whole setup, is that a fair price? App says 994 hits, but if I’m behind honest it’s closer to 3-4k hits. Maybe it was 994 hits for the 3D XL, I don’t know how the app counts.
