Travelling 9/13 to 10/2.
The last week 9/25-10/2 will now be an MSC cruise that we had not initially planned to do. But found out that old college friends (10/ 5 couples) were all going so… we said why not?

This is our 4th trip to Italy and we’ve already done the top 10 tourist hits and attractions. In 2024 we spent close to a month in Puglia, Calabria and Sicily.
We are planing to go north ‘next time’.

Before the cruise was tacked on, we committed to return to Tuscany for a few days. That’s booked for the 21-24.

So we know where we’re ending up, not sure what roads to take!! ( not literally…)

We wanted a more laid back vibe this time. More real? Less touristy.
We land in Rome and We looking at doing a few days in Argentario, Porto santo Stefano and Porto Ercole for the first 3-4 days. Am kinda stuck where to go from there. Somewhere between Argentario and central Tuscany that we can spend 3 days in.
Ideally I want to be 2-2.5hrs driving between locations.
Rome—> Argentario->???? -> Montilciano->Civitavecchia-> MSC cruise

Orivietto? Umbria? grossetto?

I have been having the most frustrating experience setting the temps to a Moovair minisplit split system and it is driving me nuts! I’ll try as best to summarize situation as this CAN get to be quite long and convoluted.

Split level home. 3 ‘floors’ to cool/heat. 2 Moovair heads (12k each) installed on floors 2 and 3 connected to a dual zone 27k compressor. Another single 12k head installed on first/ground floor with its own separate compressor.

Because of design of the house, units 2 of the 3 units will be in use. So, 1 and 2 for winter heating, and 2 and 3 for summer cooling.

Each unit has its own handheld remote. To begin ‘follow me’ mode is completely USELESS! No matter where I place the remote, the head ignores the set temp. It just keeps heating or cooling. Again yesterday, I set unit to 22c and follow me mode. By evening, the room temperature was 19.5c, and the head was STILL blowing cold air. It should have stopped or switched to fan mode.

This past winter I had a repair tech come out 5 different times. (Luckily free of charge as I had a 1 year warranty. That has now expired…) I would set the heating to 22c. Regardless of follow me or not, the head would take off and reach temps of 29c and the room is an oven. They start off fine but then without rhyme or reason, suddenly over heat! I have to shut them down. I spent my winter playing with this pos. And too boot, I saved ZERO switching from baseboard electric!!

The tech replaced the sensor, one of the boards, tweaked the sensor readings, changed the the sensor location and of late installed a longer sensor cable.

I had taped down a digital thermometer on the unit casing. So that should give me the ambient temperature. I set the unit to 22. Thermostat reaches 24, unit still heats. Head temp is 26!!

I now realize that they behave the same way when cooling too. Set it 22, and place is like an icebox. Raise to 23 and the units stop cooling and air gets muggy.

I can provide precise model numbers if that can help. Im a gadget guy and this is by far the most frustrating thing I’ve ever bought!! Save money? 😂 I will need 40 years to recover my investment!!

I’ve been on this service for over 4 years now And have always used Tivimate. although it was sometimes annoying, the past couple of months have been terrible.

On live tv, the video freezes yet the sound continues as normally would. So if I look away it ‘sounds’ like everything’s fine. But the image froze a while back. To unfreeze I need to go up/down a channel and it resumes properly.

It doesn’t buffer. It simply freezes. I have excellent internet speed and always use a VPN.

Not sure if issue is with TiVimate or service. Anyone else experiencing this? Any fixes?

I’ve been waiting on a deal to pick up an LG OLED C5 77” from my local Costco. (I’m in Canada).

The last set I picked up was a 55” B7 ( as in 2017!), panel changed 4 years ago under warranty and still looks fantastic. So I don’t NEED a new set. 😏. At that time, I managed to score a ‘manager’ get-these-off-the-floor deal and have been lurking each week in the tv aisle for a similar price drop as the new 2026 models are slowly arriving.

Last week price dropped by $400, from $3299 to $2899. Online, there’s now a spend and save promo that would bring it down $200 to $2699(🇨🇦). And that also includes delivery…

Is this the ‘best’ I can realistically expect for the C5 77”?
