Is CPA Australia worth it after a B.Com/Bachelor's from India?

Hi everyone, I recently finished my bachelor's degree in India and I'm considering pursuing CPA Australia. I wanted to get some real opinions before committing.

A few things I'd love input on:

Is CPA Australia recognized/valued by employers in India, or is it more useful only if I plan to work abroad (Australia/APAC)?

How does it compare to doing CA or ACCA instead, in terms of career opportunities and salary in India?

Is it useful for landing a first job, or is it more of something to pursue after you're already working?

What's the realistic cost and timeline for someone starting fresh with just a bachelor's?

Any regrets or things you wish you knew before starting?

Would appreciate insights from anyone who's done CPA Australia, especially from India, or who considered it and went with something else instead. Thanks!

Christ University BCom CIMA vs St Francis Hyderabad BCom CMA ,can CIMA get me a job back in Hyderabad?

So basically, my situation is — I have a confirmed seat at Christ University Bangalore for BCom integrated with CIMA, and my parents have also paid fees at St. Francis Hyderabad as a backup. I'm leaning toward Christ but my family is pushing for Francis.

One thing I wanted to ask — if I do BCom + CIMA from Christ and want to come back to Hyderabad after graduation, will I be able to find a job there? Or is CIMA only useful in Bangalore?

Would really appreciate honest answers from people who know the Hyderabad job market for finance!

Convince me CMA US or CPA is better than CIMA for long term career growth — devil's advocate needed

I have two options:

BCom integrated with CIMA at Christ University Bangalore

Regular BCom at a local college in Hyderabad with CMA US done externally alongside

I want someone to genuinely convince me why CMA US or CPA would be a better choice purely from a career and long term growth perspective.

Please ignore cost and location factors. I want to hear only about career outcomes, salary trajectory, international mobility, further studies abroad like MiM or MS Finance, and long term growth potential.

I've done a lot of research in favour of CIMA already so I need the strongest possible case for the other side. Be brutally honest."

St Francis Hyderabad BCom A&F + CMA externally vs Christ University BCom + CIMA integrated — which is better?

Hi everyone! I'm a Class 12 CBSE pass-out trying to finalise my college decision and would really appreciate some guidance from people with real experience.

I have a confirmed seat at **Christ University Bangalore for BCom with an integrated CIMA programme** (subsidised fees, Fast-track pathway). But my family wants me to consider **St Francis College Hyderabad for BCom Accounting & Finance**, and do CMA externally alongside it.

A few questions:

  1. Is St Francis Hyderabad genuinely good for BCom A&F? How's the faculty, placements, and overall environment?

  2. Is it realistically possible to complete CMA (ICMAI) externally while doing a full-time BCom— and finish both within 3 years?

  3. How does this compare to the Christ + CIMA integrated route in terms of career prospects, especially for finance roles?

For context, my long-term goal is to get into MiM . Any advice from people who've done BCom + CMA simultaneously, or who know St Francis well, would be really helpful. TIA!

Bcom Professional CIMA

I'm an upcoming student at Christ for the CIMA course. I wanted to know the following-

  1. The job opportunities Christ offers

  2. Companies I can look for internships at Bangalore (2nd and 3rd year)

  3. In comparison to CMA, how hard is CIMA, and is there any difference when it comes to placements and salary

Integrated CIMA vs CMA US — which is better long term for someone in India?

Hey everyone! I have a confirmed seat for BCom with integrated CIMA at Christ University Bangalore, India. With this program, I only need to complete 4 case study papers since the rest of the CIMA syllabus is covered within the degree itself.

I'm based in India, and my long-term goal is international finance. Wanted to get some community opinions — for someone in my position, would you recommend sticking with the integrated CIMA route or switching to CMA US, which has to be done externally?

Which one has better long-term value in terms of jobs, salary, and further studies abroad? Would love to hear from people who have done either or know the field well!

CIMA vs CMA US alongside a BCom in India — worth it?

I'm starting BCom in India and have a confirmed seat in an integrated CIMA program. But I keep seeing people recommend CMA US instead since it's only 2 parts and faster to complete.

My long-term goal is international finance. Which qualification would you actually recommend and why?
