I am genuinely looking to change industries- currently have 15yrs of progressive experience in consumer goods industry, name it toothpaste,bodywash big companies worked in their business sales, and strategy functions however I really had enough of this same retailer problems, dealing with WM/ Loblaws and etc, same profit issues , same cost cutting issues- i am extremely hardworker who has great financial acumen and business knowledge and I want some stable provincial government job where I can raise my kid without having a mental toll on profits and etc with
Private sector and still contribute vastly. Anyone who worked in private sector (consumer goods) got a job in provincial government without connections? If so how?

I joined this company 3 months ago and the following happened in exact 3 months

First week- people said the following
why did you even come here? This place is horrible
You are still smiling lets see how long this will take
You are too nice for this place
You are too kind lets see if this place will change you
My announcement got deleted by my boss suddenly and when I kindly asked, I got a defensive answer of like what i dont know what happened and nothing concrete
My boss undermined every win i had in 90days,
I secured incremental sales opportunities in 60days
First 30days I had a big customer meeting and strategy reviews
My boss apparently fired 2 people in last 3 years, and everyone is telling me she is horrible which she is a complete psychopath micromanager, looks down on people and i hate the day i came to this place i am in constant heartache
She used My direct team as an agent to tell her everything we discuss as colleuages

I am in a small industry and everyone kind of know each other, if I quit- i am scared of my reputation to be ruined since industry is small.

Q: Should i just stick it out a year and then leave? But also this woman might fire me, she hired me with positivity but after one week she started underining me

I am not sure what to do to maintain my sanity and health but also reputation

I started a new job it has been two months but it has been a piece of hell, my manager is beyond toxic so i want a way out - started antideprassants even i cant handle this.

previously last year a company that i got an offer from i have rejected kindly and didnt move there - they had a posting and i applied to their role- however this company is a competitor with the existing toxic company I am in

I did something stupid while i was interviewing my phone was broken so i used my business phone on my personal email to accept the competitor company interview invite! I said i dont think they will track personal gmail few days- then i got a new phone so now i am like if i move what if they have tracked my phone?
The current toxic company I am at is very strict you cant even forward attachments from our personal computer but i had taken a pic/ screenshots of cool initiatives just to keep for my reference- HAVE NOT shared or emailed to anyone.

So i got an offer from this next company but they are competitor company.

There is a secracy agreement- and its states any work related data

The question is- would they come after me- anyone who had secracy aggrement who went to a competition company?

cashier wanted cloth bags on the cart and she got the item she got the item gave me a look and she called fraud and meat dept, and I asked her did you say fraud i simply forgot it -

she said no i called meat dept and she didnt even ask me if i want the meat and meat dept person took it-

my overall bill was $59 something so i paid and i left without anything called on the police , they asked me to scan my scene card - this was in freshco- i had my kid with me and honestly i was out of focus,

could they go and report me to the police , even though i left premises without any fraud or no manager called to scene or anything?

Would there be a police coming to my home? If they report it?

Today i was with my kid, and i put ground beef in cloth bags i was out of focus and at the cash register she said put all the bags on the belt, she said its a new practice; and honestly i forgot to take it out- she immediately called meat department but also said fraud, and they took away the meat without even asking me if i want to pay for it - i told her sorry why did you say fraud - she said no i didnt say it, she finished my whole transaction i paid for other meat items like chicken and produce $60 worth- and my kid had a drink at store and i
Paid for it not sure if someone was watching because my 4 yr old kid was hungry had a snack and drink but i paid all of them in full- it was a $9 item

For the meat in cloth bag was honestly out of focus and didnt even realize i put it in the cloth bag; and it threw me off how she didnt even ask me to pay but she took the item away, and i was stunned to her attitude and trying to watch my active 4 yr- i couldnt even say hey i need that i will pay.

Then i Paid transaction and left like normal. They didnt ID me or said anything but they have my info on scene card- freshco store
Could they file something against me if they think i put it on purpose? I wasnt pulled aside or anything but can they file something to police?
Should i go back to store alone to explain as with my kid i couldnt even think properly.

I changed 3 jobs so far in my 15 years of career - but i have never experienced such cold and mean people on my first week and jf they talk they have said the following
- why did you even come here
- lets see how long you will be positive here
- you didnt escape yet
- you are still smiling

Like honestly i want to say wtf is wrong with you guys, but i am brushing it off

My direct team is another odd one, there is an analyst questioning my work literally i am two levels higher than her but i see her asking me about my customer decks, and when i ignore the ask she complained to the manager and the manager goes to me we need to help each other

I said yes definitely i can help but its my second week if i can be the master of my role first ? Like is this too much to ask?

Another person in my team asked if i have kids, i said 4 yr old, then apparently this travelled around the office someone i dont work with told me oh your kid is 4? I am like how do you know? I just find it so odd for people to pass on info this instantly thats not even relevant to work

I am almost going to lose my sanity and i was a high performer in another company i just changed to be closer to home for less commute.

More on The manager; she is another toxic onehh , apparently she goes i am super red and demanding, in my first day, she said people might say bad things abiut me but its because i am demanding and detailed

The team hates the manager gossips about her, but i am trying to be neutral, because what the analyst did in my second week is clearly not a trusting team,

I honestly dont know what to do, i am pulling info from theit mouth to onboard properly , nobody wants to share anything on work but just gossip

Is this all normal or am i in a horriblr place?

some recent drama happened in my current company where 3 girls and ganging up against me with bullying and I reacted firmly to their harassment and attitude so they want to HR all 3 of them
Management moved me to another desk, bigger desk as I was top performer but those ladies still either dropped a comment, spread to the whole company that my previous team hated me, like quite literally everyone think and believe in their narrative, one day someone says, did they kick you out from your previous team? Another day someone else says; watch her how she behaves when my current team is happy with me.

So i was sick of all this nonsense drama of 3 girls trying to ruin my reputation where everyone loved me, i went out to consider offers and i got 3 . So i am like sick of this gossip screw it i am leaving. It impacted my mental health. And i also commuting 4 days a week so i am like screw this commute and mental load

Now i gave my resignation to my manager it dropped like a bomb, all directors, VP and general manager said they want to make me stay and they can arrange 1-2 days commute that i have a future here they value me and i am one of the best and etc. in the last one week, i had 5-6 hours meetings texts and another final meeting with general manager.that they want me to cut the noise and dont get distracted and they will work on fixing this environment and they asked for details to fix bullying

I love the leadership but they didnt do to my complaints anything before they kept saying ignore the noise. I went many times, they just moved me to another team thinking it will change but it didnt

So now with this dynamic they really want me to stay should I leave or stay? I never stayed after giving a resignation - i dont know if it will be better or should i just start fresh?

I am starting a new job on June 1st- today is April 28th technically in more than a month

but my New prospective employer have asked me twice if I have given my current employer my notice.

After background check and the employment letter is signed and done.

and apparently the new employer announce weeks in advance about the new employee- isn’t this odd?

The tricky part is this new employer is a competitor in one of the categories to my current employer hence I am hesitant to announce before 2wks notice because they might even walk me out due to competition AND there are other people in this new employer who knows my current co workers

Question1- why the new employer would even want to announce weeks in advance? This is the first time i hear this in 13yrs of my career. I worked with many big companies this was never asked twice month in advance- Is this common??

Question 2- how can i tell this new manager that i will only tell them 2 wks in advance and tbh i dont want this announcement to go weeks earlier.
