System won’t boot after bios update because of boot loop - need help asap!

Hey everyone, I’m having an issue with my MSI B550 Pro VDH WiFi motherboard (with a Ryzen 5 3600). Before I updated the BIOS, it kept going in a boot loop, flashing to the BIOS for a few seconds, then restarting.

After updating the bios to the latest version using the bios flash button, nothing appeared on the screen, and the CPU light stayed on constantly. I couldn’t re-trigger the update, as the update light just kept blinking. I correctly formatted the usb’s (I tried both 3.0 and 2.0 16gb drives) and named the bios file MSI.ROM but it just wouldn’t work.

I also tried clearing the CMOS, but that didn’t work either.

I’m 100% sure there’s nothing wrong with my ram, cpu or gpu. But I’m not sure about my motherboard or psu.

I have an old 600W Cooler Master RS600 power supply, so I’m wondering if that could be the problem as well.

Has anyone else had this issue? How did I fix it? Or is my motherboard just dead? 😵

ASUS Prime B550-PLUS II boot looping / no display with Ryzen 5 3600

I’m having a really frustrating issue with my PC and I can’t figure out what’s causing it.

My specs are an ASUS Prime B550-PLUS II motherboard (bought second hand) and a Ryzen 5 3600 CPU. Everything except for the motherboard is known working and has been tested.

The problem is that the PC is stuck in a boot loop. When I press the power button, sometimes nothing happens at all. Other times, the system powers on with all fans and RGB running, but then it shuts off after a few seconds and repeats this cycle continuously. My monitor turns on but stays completely black with no BIOS or display output.

I’ve already tried reseating the RAM, using different sticks and slots, reseating the CPU, checking all power cables including the 24-pin and CPU EPS, and testing the GPU which is confirmed working. I’ve also tried a minimal boot setup with only CPU, one stick of RAM, and GPU connected, but the issue stays the same. The PSU also works fine in another system.

The motherboard was bought second hand, and the seller said it worked fine with a Ryzen 5 5600. From what I understand, B550 boards should support the Ryzen 5 3600 out of the box, but I’m unsure if this could still be a BIOS issue. The board also does not have a BIOS flashback button, so I can’t update the BIOS without getting it to post first.

At this point I’m not sure if this is a BIOS compatibility problem, a faulty motherboard, or possibly a power delivery issue.

Any help would be appreciated because I’m running out of ideas.

Used ASUS ROG X470-F won’t POST - Need help!

Hey everyone, I recently bought a used ASUS ROG X470-F Gaming motherboard, but I can’t get it to boot at all. I’ve tried both a Ryzen 5 3600 and a Ryzen 5 5600X, but neither one gets me a POST or any display output. The board is second-hand, so I don’t know exactly what BIOS version it’s running.

Right now it just powers on with the DRAM LED and the standby power LED both lit, and it never goes any further than that.

So far I’ve already tried reseating the RAM, switching slots, clearing CMOS/RTC, and double-checking all power connections. I’ve also tested two different RAM kits, one 3600MHz and one 3200MHz, but neither made any difference. I’m also running an RTX 3070, but there’s still no display output at all. I don’t have any storage connected right now, though I don’t think that should prevent it from reaching BIOS.

At this point I’m starting to wonder if it’s a BIOS compatibility issue (especially for the 5600X on an older X470 board), or if I simply got a faulty motherboard. Has anyone run into something similar or know what I should try next?

I wanted to connect my EA account to a different Xbox account. After disconnecting it from the current Xbox account, I tried linking it to another one, but it automatically reconnected to the previous account. Now I have to wait five months before I can try again 👍
