Redesigned the UI of my Free music player
I've been building Resonva as a side project and just pushed what feels like the biggest update so far.
What's new in 1.0.8:
* Completely redesigned app icon
* Home screen widget - play, pause, skip without opening the app
* UI improvements throughout
For context on what Resonva does it's a 100% offline MP3 player with a feature called PureWave that tunes your local music to 417Hz in real time. It also supports animated GIF files as album art, which is something I haven't seen in any other Android player.
No subscription, no streaming required. Free to download.
Genuinely open to feedback good or bad. Still a small indie app and every opinion helps shape what comes next.

I mapped the entire global semiconductor supply chain
I spent months obsessing over every pixel of my music player UI and here's the result
I've been building Android apps on the side for a while, and music players always frustrated me — they either look like they were designed in 2013 or they're so bloated with features that the actual listening experience gets buried.
So I built Resonva from scratch.
The focus was simple: make every screen feel intentional. Dark theme that actually looks good, album art that breathes, controls that don't fight for attention.
The now-playing screen layout (went through ~12 versions)
How the album art interacts with the background
Making the controls feel spacious without wasting screen space
The PureWave animation intensity levels
It's free, no ads, no subscription. Just a clean music player.

Would love honest feedback especially if something feels off. Still actively building it.

Solar Plant over a canal in Gujarat, India
Was listening to some tracks on the music player that I made and thought why not set an animated Luffy GIF as the cover art. Didn't expect the entire background to shift to match it. The orange and amber just hit different.
The app actually supports animated GIFs as album covers which I didn't even know was possible on Android. Pretty wild feature honestly.
