Placement test

Im from Nyc and plan on sophomore transferring to Stanford, and i need to take calc. I have to start at calc 1 1st semester and move up to calc 2 2nd semester. But in order to get into calc 1, I need to take a fckass placement test or I take precalc. I need to get a 85, and I got 76. If I don’t get a 85, what else can I do in order to do calc 1? I don’t have AP credits either

Sophomore Transfer to Stanford

For a student who graduated high school with a 2.0 GPA due to documented caregiving responsibilities and a disability, what accomplishments during one year of community college would most strongly demonstrate readiness for Stanford as a sophomore transfer from a nyc cc?

Also how should I explain a low high school GPA caused by disability, caregiving responsibilities, and family hardship in the additional information section of the common app?

Clubs at cc

I plan on going to CC next fall with a plan on transferring to Stanford as a sophmore transfer. My cc only has 2 stem clubs: engineering club and math club. I have no interest in math but I do for engineering. When I write my why transfer essay, would explaining that because there’s only 1 engineering club, theres not much to explore and grow from and that Stanford will help help me do exactly that?

Also, on a completely but somewhat related note, since I plan on transferring to Stanford as a sophomore transfer, what classes should I take, how could I possible get research, and what more could I do to increase my chances of getting in.

how to study for SAT

I was wondering on how to study for the SAT with someone who struggles with understanding the passages on the modules. I do have extended time on the SAT itself, so im not really worried about timing, but more rather on how to understand what the passage is saying.

Advice for starting CC to transfer to Stanford

I’m going to CC this coming fall. While I’ve learned valuable lessons about utilizing the right resources during high school, it’s only after the fact that I realize what I missed. I don’t want to repeat those mistakes at CC. This is my final opportunity.

I’m happy to take any advice offered on effectively utilizing and accessing the necessary resources at CC to ensure a successful transfer.
