How lost would I be if I’ve never played any Assassin’s Creed game before and want to start with the Black Flag Remake as my first AC game?

Two years ago, during Black Friday, I bought practically every Assassin’s Creed game along with all the DLCs from the PS Store.

It just so happened that I still haven’t had the chance to play them, mainly because I wanted to experience the entire series in release order — from the first game all the way to the newest one.

After the rather disappointing Shadows, I kind of lost the motivation to play every game one by one, but the new Black Flag Remake looks like an absolute masterpiece, and I’m insanely excited to finally get into the Assassin’s Creed franchise.

The only thing I’m wondering about is this… Originally, I planned to watch a recap of AC1 on YouTube, then play the Ezio Trilogy, followed by AC3 Remastered and finally the Black Flag Remake.

The problem is that I’m the kind of person who really cares about understanding the full lore in games, and since people are saying that Black Flag Remake supposedly won’t have a modern-day story, can I still play Black Flag Remake as my first Assassin’s Creed game without any issues? Does the present-day storyline have little to do with the overall lore of the series, or would I end up completely lost?

Why do those people always feel the need to attack the other side just because they like a game that has objectively been fairly criticized? Just stfu and enjoy the game if you like it.

If I skip Iron Fist and Luke Cage, will I miss a lot of important context for Defenders show and Daredevil Season 3?

As a DC guy with nothing to watch, all the hype around Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 made me want to finally catch up on the old Marvel Netflix shows. Back in the day I only watched two seasons of The Punisher, and I absolutely loved both seasons and Frank character.

Today I finished Daredevil Season 1 (an absolute masterpiece — it reminds me of when DC Arrow Season 1 was actually dark and incredible), and I started Jessica Jones because I’ve heard it has one of the best villains in Marvel Netflix universe.

What I mainly care about is understanding the context needed for Daredevil Season 3, so I’d like to know if I can completely skip Iron Fist and Luke Cage and just focus on The Defenders.

Would this watch order work well: Daredevil S1 → Jessica Jones S1 → Daredevil S2 → The Defenders S1 → potentially Jessica Jones S2 → Daredevil S3?

So again if I skip Iron Fist and Luke Cage, will I miss a lot of important context for The Defenders and Daredevil Season 3?

Imagine the media reaction if the roles were reversed. Not to mention the very fact that speaking publicly about such things is embarrassing…

How is it possible that casting a black Helen in The Odyssey and a black Snape in Harry Potter show still isn’t enough for a certain side to admit that blackwashing and the erasure of white culture are real things?

No, seriously. I genuinely can’t understand how, despite so much evidence, there are still people who refuse to admit the obvious in this one topic and acknowledge that blackwashing in recent years has reached absurd levels…

Today I was reading a supposedly very credible rumor on reddit that in upcoming The Batman Part II movie, character Harvey Bullock — a white detective in the comics — is going to be played by yet another black actor. You know, because apparently a black Gordon wasn’t enough.

Comments didn’t surprise me at all. As usual, whenever someone at the bottom mentioned obvious DEI influence, those comments got attacked, and a bunch of people once again tried to argue that these decisions have nothing to do with DEI. Apparently Black actor just happened to be the absolute best person at the casting for the role. Like don’t make me laugh…

It’s incredible how far these people are willing to live in denial just to avoid admitting that the “right-wing fascists, racists, extremists, Nazis, and homophobes” were right about one thing.

Can someone explain to me how it is possible that a large part of society believes that a woman can become a man and vice versa?

It is incomprehensible to me that such a large part of society firmly claims that a man can become a woman and vice versa. How is it possible that the left has become so detached from reality?

Imagine a grown and creepy man dressed as a woman being in a women’s bathroom. Normal reaction would be disgust and calling the police. Meanwhile, modern left believes that this is normal and that such a person should be respected.

How did we get to this point? Seriously, how?

You can literally feel that they are Jedi hunters. They have great design, presence, and are strong enough to give even Maul trouble—you can sense that they’re a real threat.

It’s a shame that aside from Fallen Order and Shadow Lord, the rest of this group’s appearances were so disappointing.

And I don’t care about the explanation that blah blah they were never strong blah blah blah… If in the current canon NEW Jedi who survived Order 66 keep being introduced and turn out to be very powerful only because the writers want it that way (Kanan, Devon, Cal, Cere, Bode), then I see no reason why the Inquisitors couldn’t also be very strong. Not stronger than Vader or the Emperor, but not so weak that they get killed in such a trivial and embarrassing way like the Eleventh Brother by Ahsoka or another Inquisitor in Ventress show.

For a long time, I’ve been planning to play all Assassin’s Creed Games. Two years ago, I bought all of them during a Christmas sale, and I still haven’t started them.

After watching trailer for Black Flag Remake, I’ve regained motivation to start the Ezio Trilogy, Assassin’s Creed III, and then buy new remake.

The problem is that I’m someone who always tries to fully understand the story and the lore in games. From what I’ve heard, the remake might not include the modern-day storyline at all, which is the foundation of the entire series lore.

My question is: how confused will I be about the modern-day story if I only play the Black Flag remake and then move on to later titles like Assassin’s Creed Rogue, Assassin’s Creed Unity, and Assassin’s Creed Syndicate? How much modern day in the original Black Flag is related to next next games?
