bit of a rant, bare with me.

I noticed a homeless couple sitting on the sidewalk outside my house, and the guy was badly hurt on his leg.
my immediate instinct was to gather up some first aid and bring it out to them.
they were so kind and asked where the nearest church was for food, so when I ran inside to grab my phone to check I also bagged up some food for them.
The whole time, they were humble, thankful, and kept apologizing for “doing this outside your house”
(which I insisted was not an issue)

Way too often, especially on here I see people talking about homeless people as if they are pests. They’re people.
clearly the government doesn’t give a fuck about anyone of us, so we gotta take care of each other.

While I’m not ignorant to the fact that not all of them have good intentions, some of them do and they deserve compassion.

We have to be villagers if we want a village.

I haven’t seen a lighting storm like this in years! my house feels like a photography studio😭 I have work at 5am and these flashes are non stop.
I hope the lightning rods are catching them

I’m in infants, and we have a lil one who got sent home yesterday for clear signs of a (new) allergic reaction after lunch. (redness and swelling around face, itching, unusually upset)
Parents insist at pickup it’s just “Eczema”
Today, same. thing.
we have a lunch with the same outlier as the day before - and again she flares up. This time, also has her hand in her mouth scratching tongue and absolutely inconsolable at sleep time. (for her, VERY unusual) only stopped crying while being held, and ended up falling asleep in my arms. (which I prefer, I can closely monitor her breathing this way)

Parents? audibly annoyed. saying they got a note yesterday stating it’s “just eczema” and that she’ll be juuust fine.

my question: do some parents think we’re just sending kids home for funsies?? or do they genuinely not have the same concerns we do?

I care for these babies as if they’re my own. I observe them as my job and can immediately tell when something is wrong.
and maybe I am wrong! maybe she’s truly, just fine. but until she gets an allergy test, my gut will not let it go.
I would rather get her tested and be wrong, than not get her tested and her next fit be anaphylactic. I guess I’m just feeling heartbroken that I just want to ensure she’s okay, and I’m being met with attitude and eye-rolls at pickup 😕

Just a heads up - anyone living in the area of Essa & Innisfil, we have had our shed broken into and just last night we caught someone trying to break in again.

I knew this area wasn’t exactly the safest but I feel nauseous knowing some stranger was in my backyard while I was home.

I made a police report about the theft and they told me it should be marked as a trespass to property… so big help on that end🙄

anyone have any security camera recommendations?
we have a few but clearly we need more. I want a clear shot of this guys face.
