formicarium design question, Hydration methods for 3d printed nests
I have been working on various iterations of nest designs and im planning on my next one which is going to have an improved hydration system. i have no idea what that actually means thoug, i was looking at antscanadas hydration system as inspiration but i am a little confused on something, should i have the water resivoir closed or open to air, which is better to stop mold growth?

Smoked peach sauce recipe?
I am in the works of making a VERY PEACHY hot sauce, i have peaches i am going to smoke with peach wood, then blend with sugar rush peach peppers and white scorpions, and add a little bit of peach cider vinegar for a little acidity. Does anyone have any suggestions on things i could add to help? I am trying to go for like a sweet smoky sauce. I dont want too much barbecue flavor, i was thinking about honey (possibly peach blossom honey???) lol idk.

Strawberry mead questions
I am planning to make a strawberry mead, i have freshly picked and processed rougly 7.1 lbs of strawberries and put them in a gallon jar with just under 3/4 tsp of pectic enzymes in the jar did i use too much or too little? I was adapting a thing i saw for blueberries. Next, how would i calculate the sugar, and figure out how much honey i will need? , and, will the pectic enzymes fizz? Should i put an airlock on it?

Ants keep trying to climb out of the outworld, they have food, water and Idk im new to antkeeping , i tried it once before but got an infertile queen, this one is an odd story, so one of our pear trees fell, and i was using my chainsaw to cut it into foot long pieces, then when i went to split it ants exploded out if it, and they started dying because it was so cold out, originally i didn’t care lowk but then i felt bad because i kinda like ripped apart their home so i took a chance on a quarter piece they all started running into, and put it into a terrarium, ive been trying to get them into this formicarium and out of that damn piece of wood for a while now and its worrying me, i keep finding dead ants in the corner of the terrarium and they keep trying to escape the walls but i have tubing going to a formicarium they refuse to enter, one major is chilling in it and wont leave, but none of the others will move. I have seen the queen, at one point she left the wood to go in a test tube i had covered, but then she left, man i dont know what to do i need them out of this stupid log .

I have tried vinyl tubing and silicone, my ants are being picky and refusing to go in them (camponotus pennsylvanicus) does anyone have any tubing recommendations for picky ants?

bought this tubing and my ants dont like it, i bought this one because they didnt want to walk in the vinyl tubing i bought from the hardware store. i think it might be from off gassing, they keep trying to leave from the top of the outworld they are nested in a log im tryna get them out of, but they wont go in the tubing to get to the new formicarium i printed, i am at a loss why are they doing this?
