Took me 10 hours- my most ambitious project yet - but I love these two so much I couldn’t help myself

So I’m really trying to improve my art. I’ve been watching YouTube tutorials on constructing heads specifically right now - I also try and watch vids on feet and hands from time to time and I use google image references.
I also practice boxes with my tutorials when I watch them and the odd time I attempt perspective.
And it’s improving as I go. So I’m just wondering when people say learn anatomy- are we talking actually picking up a text and looking at what is going on in an elbow? Or are we just trying to get a rough idea to construct it? Is that a stupid question?
Like my legs have been looking more leggy and I’m mostly estimating where muscles go based on other photos. - are yall actually looking at like medical diagrams and stuff??
I just haven’t gotten to the video tutorials on the body because I’m taking my time - so I mostly see them in photos when I wanna make something fun between practicing and I’m getting the idea of box construction so I just don’t really know how deep people go into anatomy. And how often are you doing fundamentals? As warm ups and building blocks? Or seperate like hour long practices ?
Anyway if this has been asked i sincerely apologize. Just trying utilize my time to learn effectively while avoiding making it boring - but im also not tryin cut corners lol

- started drawing about a month ago- just figured out I could make animations on procreate this weekend , these are my first three projects testing it out
- self taught and truthfully I haven’t done much actual learning on animation yet - I’m still trying to get my drawings down - but it’s been a lot of fun and I wanted to share them

Ok so this sounds so stupid. But I’m trying to write a book - but I have come to realize after making my brother listen to me read the first three chapters out loud I suck at getting inside the characters head.
I’m writing like a narrator following the character describing a scene instead of being the character living in the scene.
I can see the problem. I know it’s there. I feel incapable of fixing it. Every rewrite I attempt turns out similarly.
I have Becky Chambers a record of a spaceborn few in front of me rn to try and study her writing and figure how to fix mine but I feel like I’ve reached the ceiling of my current knowledge.
So how did yall improve this specific skill- I understand I have to keep writing and reading / but like are there any little lessons or tips you found helpful when figuring it out?? I’ll watch videos , I’ll do English lessons from legit classes if I have to. I am so determined to improve I just feel at a loss rn
This has been driving me crazy for so long and is arguably my biggest fault as a writer. Everytime I think I’ve got something I look back and realize I’ve done the same thing again.
Trying to do 3rd person limited perspective btw
I posted here a few days ago something pretty different and the resounding info was it was boring and read like blocking a script less like a story. Realized I didn’t connect really with the character so I started new.
If it’s boring it’s boring that’s fine - I have a direction I’m going now at least and boring can be fixed a little later. What I do want to know - is there anything I’m doing in my writing now that will make editing later feel like more of a chore than it needs to be. Like constant mistakes I can correct now before I get to deep into it.
I appreciate any feedback, it’s a bit longer than my last submission I don’t expect anyone to read it all. And again, I did post earlier - so after I get feedback on technical stuff and structure I’ll probably not post again until it’s finished if at all. I just don’t wanna waste time doing something terribly wrong now and have to fix it later.
I do see a small typo on one page where it should say uninjured hand not injured. I have it printed off for proof reading currently and highlighting those small mistakes - didn’t mean to miss the before posting , but no need to point them out I have them highlighted now.
This is maybe a stupid question- or maybe I’m always trying to work backwards. But whenever I start thinking I have an idea to write, I usually can get the setting, the world politics, the theme I want to interject the character arc etc. sometimes I plan the characters to a t. Including who they were, are and who I want them to end up being.
And yet , somehow. Picking an actual plot. The reason they go from point a to b feels damn near impossible. Or it’s always some flimsy half plot I’m piecing together within the world I have and not a very interesting plot on its own
And I know general advice is to read more, and I’d say i read an average amount between 2-4 books a month so I don’t know why I stuggle so much with what is one of the most important aspects of writing
