• What Are Thin Panes and Thin Slabs?

• *They are a set of slabs that stack like snow, go from layers 0-8, and at half becomes a slab. at full = full block. *

• *Thin Glass Pane = Glass Pane Flipped Horizontally. *

• How They Work

• It would be placeable like cushions/snow layers. Place it under itself or above itself. And every layer you can place any dust, torches, etc on it.*

• Slabs would still function as a slab, except it would layer like snow does.*

• Thin slabs would be transparent like glass but items can be placed on them. Thin Panes would be transparent but no items can be placed on them. Thin Slabs are solid like slabs. *

• What They Could Allow

• Adds Surreal Scare Builds - i;e looking through thin glass from tall heights*

• They would also come in stained glass as well w/ all colors*

• As they act similar to cushions or snow layers, you could build crazy things like shelves, cabinets, better floor tiling, etc. This lets your creative mind flourish.*

• Mainly this would allow scary themed builds feel more scary. Standing in middle platform in dark alleyway that looks like you are standing of nothing, but you still are.* Yes barrier blocks exist, but they can't be pushed and pulled by pistons.*

• Great for survival for mob pathing, farms, etc. *

• Great for texturing floors and give depth to builds. Walk into house, see a slab on edge then walk and fall a it and looks like corners *

• TL;DR Thin Panes

• Suggesting we should have thin glass panes but just called thin panes that would have all stained colors, work as layered snow & look like glass pane just horizontally flipped. Also items can't be placed on it. But also Solid Thin slabs, i;e slabs that stack. TL;DR: Transparent thin slabs that are of their counterpart but glass like, w/ layers of up to 8. or stackable slabs.

• Someone New666 suggested breakable versions of these which is a great idea but i also think that it should add why to make these so i figure to make the breakable per layer bu jumping or piston movement, you right click the block of choice w/ a noteblock to change it into breakable state and right click w| noteblock again to change it back.

Discalimer: Yes its not really possible on sci-fi stuff but young me just wrote it anyway. I am also terrible at Grammar and English, so please understand this is raw. Not after critiques or etc. Just wanted to see if I can make you cry like I did..

During a long cold night a little boy sat perched on top of a frozen rock watching stars pass on by. During these nights he sat there wishing he could see some grass and hoping someday someone would rescue him. You can probably tell by now he isn't on earth. That is right. He was abandoned on a frozen comet.

He had a broken ship, a picture of his father, and some food. But that food wasn't going to last very long. Problem is he also felt in his heart that no one would find him. The comet he was stranded on flew so fast that it felt like the stars were not moving at all.

Every night, when he could feel it was night time on this pile of frozen rock he would leave his spaceship in a suit with oxygen and sit on part of a random rock. He would watch the stars and talk to his mom. He would pray with his white skinny legs crossed with his back upright and head facing straight up in the sky.

He would pray to his mom, "Dear Momma, I would love some day to see you again. I know you are in good hands wherever you are. Tell dad I said hi as well. I screwed up. I know I did it real good this time. I'm sorry Momma. I miss you all a lot. I guess one way or another, I'm going to see you soon. I love you all. Thank you god for these rations. Thank you for what you have given me. Please help me find my way home."

After an hour of prayer, he'd head back into the spaceship to refuel his suit with oxygen, and stare outside. Because he was only ten years old he wasn't able to fix the ship. His dad was the astronaut who brought him to this frozen rock. They were on a mission to mine it for water. Earth was lacking fresh clean water in the year 2025 due to a mishap.

Normally his dad would have left him back at the colony ship for safety, yet it was blown up. Some idiot had crashed into it with their ship. Yeah, that wasn't the best day. It also happened to be the little boy's birthday that day; turning the big 10. So now Tommy sits adrift on a speeding chunk of frozen rock headed who knows where waiting for someone, anyone to come rescue him. His beacon for help was still working thankfully.

As Tommy keeps recurring his daily schedule of eat, sleep , stare, think, try to learn from the little amount of books he has, and praying something exciting happens. Two months alone and something finally happens. Some mysterious creature flies by the frozen asteroid glowing a bright beautiful blue glow. It had this most beautiful purple stream of light, beautiful tail and body resembling a stingray. It made dolphin sounds except louder and more humming than anything. He waved at this mysterious creature and logged it down in his journal.

Journal Log, 
	08/25/2025; Time: 8:15 am Today was my birthday and boy was it ever exciting. I am with my father boarding a new ship to go mining for ice on rock that is going almost the speed of light. It makes me excited. Momma would be so proud of what dad and I have done. He made a new hyperdrive. I made cookies with a little help from Aunt Wooly. Anyway, We are departing in an hour and I'm excited. Tired of seeing old rusty junk metal. Tired of eating frozen tasteless meals. Dad said that if this works, we will soon be headed home. Back to Earth. Can't believe idiot scientists thought it would be a good thing to try to use our water on earth to create a new fuel source. Contaminated and Poisoned 95% of the water in 1 hr. Anyway, peace Momma.
	08/25/2025; Time: 8:45 am So I guess dad and I are leaving sooner. He came and picked me up. I heard a big explosion, it sounded scary. I don't know what was going on, but sirens were blaring. Big words displaying through the ship corridors on top while dad was running to ours had read, "Emergency Evac". I'm guessing something bad happened. Dad ran through another corridor and held me tight in his arms carrying me. Told me to duck my head as we went through the fifth corridor door. We got to his ship, and we flew out of the docked position. It looked like another ship crashed into our colony ship. I don't think we will be returning there any time soon. Anyway, love you Momma.

	08/30/2025; Time: 10:05 am Well dads hyperdrive thingy was a big success. It had made our spaceship land right on top of a frozen asteroid. Dad told me to wait in the ship as he got out to explore. As dad explored for hours I had helped myself to the last good tasty frozen burrito. The rest were terrible meals. I mean add water to get spaghetti and meatballs. Add water to get spam in a can. Urgh. Being a brown haired boy was not fun. I was always teased for being a girl in disguise. Always had long hair. Dad tells me that it is a good thing when I get older. Hmm, I hear my dad calling on the radio. 

	08/30/2025; Time: 11:00 am So I now have to leave the ship. Dad is in trouble. I need to go rescue him. He said he tripped and fell into a crater filled with spikes. He broke his ankle but he is fine other than that. Dad explained how to put on the space suit and fill it with oxygen before leaving. So I get everything on and all of a sudden, I have to go to the restroom. But dad needed me. So I ignored it and finally got to see more of this very special frozen chunk of ice rock. 

I get out and land on the rock. I felt very heavy. As if I weighed almost twice my weight. Anyway, I slowly moved as fast as I could to follow steps my dad had made. I made steps with the shovel in case this would happen. He called me on the suit radio and told me to hurry. Bring rope. I had already brought rope, I ain't a dummy. So about two miles away from the ship. 

	08/30/2025; Time: 12:00 pm Lunch time I finally reach my dad just in the nick of time. He was losing grip. I reached down over this chunk of ice and told my dad to hang on tight to the rope. I heaved as much as I could but as I weighed so much I couldn't bring him up. I figured this would be the case. So I had brought a remote to call the rover. I called the rover and he came to assist. He was quick. I should have probably rode the rover over here. Rover is our electronic navigational and robot assistant designed to help in precarious situations. I have no idea what precarious means, I just heard it in the lectures before going on the colony ship. Anyway, I tied the rope to the  rover and said pull. Rover started pulling on the rope slowly and steadily but it wasn't good enough. I started helping. Finally, we succeeded to get dad up out of the spiky ice butthole. Oh come on, you know I had to say it. 

	08/30/2025; Time: 1:00 pm Dad and I were back into the ship resting and he catered to his foot. He signaled a beacon for us to be rescued. Knowing how much food we had we both wouldn't survive for long. Dad said that if my eyes weren't so red that he'd have been dead by now, jokingly. Yes I have red eyes, it was very rare. I swear I'm Satan's child. I mean curly long brown hair, red eyes, pale white as a ghost. I'm also double jointed in all my hands, feet, ankles, and knees. It means I can make popping sounds with them at will. But I guess I must be a girl; as well...sigh
Boys usually don't write things in a journal. I do, but I guess I'm more girl than boy. Every kid teased me back at the colony ship about it. Even a girl called me a girl. I'm wearing boy clothes, is that not enough. Sigh. 

	09/09/2025; Time: 8:05 pm Here I lie in this metal contraption sad and alone. Something very bad had happened. Dad was really concerned about us getting rescued to live another day. He was determined to use the rover to signal for help to get us off this now doomed piece of junk. He claimed it wasn't a very worthwhile asteroid. Only 25% clean water. We needed at least 50% to haul back to the colony ships. 

	11/12/2025; Time: 10:00 pm Something amazing happened, something I just can't explain. I saw a new undiscovered species. Apparently friendly and helpful. It literally saw me and added oxygen to my ride. It gave me oxygen to finally be able to take off my suit. I got to literally pet this amazing creature. It had a bright blue glow and the most beautiful purple stream of light. It also resembled some aquatic animal I remember seeing back in my day on earth. It had a very interesting tail. 

While I pet it, like petting a giant dolphin, it made these sounds that made me sleep in peace at night. It was like it could feel my emotions, and understand I was in pain. This was the best thing to Ever happen to me. It made a signal for me to put my suit back on and get ready for oxygen to deplete. It was leaving but it did refill my spaceship's oxygen for another 4 months. Now only if dad was still around to enjoy this.

Now, Tommy had his adventure with this mysterious creature, but alas it was time for it to return to it's kids. It felt sorry for Tommy and hence why it gave him calming music and more oxygen.

Tommy continues to write in his journal everyday and continues his singing and staring into the forever night sky on this speeding chunk of ice. Being ten is still incredibly hard to live in this situation without wanting to commit suicide. He literally thought about it but he held on to hope.

He hoped someone would finally hear the sos signal. But sadly, after two extra months he decided no one was ever going to hear the sos signal. After learning everything from the ship to exterior, re-reading the books a thousand times, to finally trying to make smoke signals on a frozen comet, he turned off the sos signal. He lost all hope and faith and just couldn't take the stress. Stranded on a frozen comet 4 months with his dad who is no longer with him made Tommy go berserk. He went mad.

As time proceeds to move on and Earth still in shambles, with colony ships still fleeing and trying to get more and more water from other asteroids, comets, and etc tommy is literally lost in outer space. What is worse, this place was literally just rock, minerals, and frozen water. It was a barren type place to be stranded on. No video games, no comic books, no wifi, no nothing. He was literally doomed to die.

In the last month before the great impact Tommy finally decided he was just going to jump off and adrift into outer space. He thought screw this rock speeding so fast and almost killing him with heavy gravity. I'm going to just do it, if I run out of oxygen at least I don't have to suffer anymore. So Tommy preps for his final fate when he sees in his path a planet this comet was headed for. All of a sudden, Tommy had regained some hope. He thought if he could get this rust bucket enough fuel from the rover which is almost dead, he would get off the comet and be able to land far away from the comet's impact. He had no real idea what he was doing, but he decided to give it his best.

Tommy called Rover over to him. Tommy looked with big teary eyes, I'm sorry rover but I have to ask you to remove all of your fuel into the rocket. Rover accepted and did it without a care in the world. After the Rover finished topping off the rocket, the rover had died. After spending a few months on a frozen chunk of rock with twice the gravity, you gain a lot of new muscle for Tommy that is. Tommy roped the now dead rover into position on the rocket, and dragged the empty fuel into the rocket by lifting a lot of weight. Imagine a ten year old boy lifting almost 600 pounds. Yeah, a little extreme but Tommy did it.

Tommy closed the door, and started the initial auto pilot sequence to get off this barren bastard of a place. The comet was getting closer and closer to this new planet. It looked almost like earth with two suns, but the sky was purple and it looked like all the water on the planet was red. This was no earth of course, Tommy had realized he might still die. But at least he gets a new place of rest before dying. He was very well excited.

Autopilot had failed. So Tommy is now trying to remember how to manually initial the launch sequence, accessing the rockets panels and buttons. Turned the key, prepped the boosters, and turned the flaps out. He had to do this manually. Probably a good thing because this was an asteroid, it had small tailing ends of comets trailing it. Success.

After ten seconds the rocket boosted off the speeding asteroid into it's trail of comets. Tommy being desperate tried to navigate through them as much as he could. Left, right, flips, barrels, anything you think you could do in a spaceship he was pretty much doing it. He finally reached the end and one of the comets nicked on the side flaps on the rocket. Tommy gulped and said, "well I hope I can live on this planet as I'll never be getting off of it now."

Tommy now in the space shuttle rocket headed towards this new planet with a broken side flap he starts thinking of things that could help. He hopes there is life on the planet. He hopes there are plants growing edible fruits, He hopes for a lot of things but sadly something takes a turn for the worse. His rocket suddenly collided with an unknown gravity field pulling him into it. It looked like a black hole but it was a spherical shape.

Tommy is now thinking to himself why I was doomed with so much terrible luck, why. Anyway this thing started pulling him in but the asteroid was just far enough out of it's reach that it wasn't taking it in.

Tommy had left his journal floating in space before he was sucked into this unknown thing. With his journal log finally saying his final goodbyes. No one really knows what happened to Tommy, whether he is still alive, or if he died, or whether the unknown black hole similarity was a wormhole instead. Or even if there was another planet that could aid him, he was forever lost in outer space.

	09/10/2025 10:00 am So I am here, I am looking at these damn stars ever changing again. I think about what happened two days ago. How I failed to rescue my dad a second time. I think he didn't want me to rescue him. it was a sad day. A very sad day for me indeed. I went out of my spaceship in the suit and I didn't hear any word from dad. I didn't know what was going on. I hadn't heard from him in a long while. I know he told me to stay, but I was really worried.
So I got on my suit, jumped out into this asteroid finally landing correctly as it is very hard to navigate twice earth's gravity. I brought the rover for help just in case he fell in the ice spike hole. Anyway I went to that hole and saw nothing there. No one was there. I did see on the other side foot prints. So I sat on top of the rover then asked him to navigate me across this ice pike butthole yet again. Quite literally, this hole will never get me to not laugh at it. 

Rover takes off with me tied to his back and climbs down the hole on the side going down slowly. About 10 minutes we finally reached the bottom. Another ten minutes in, we start crossing it as fast as we could, dodging and zipping through each pointy ice spike to the other side. The side dad had said we should never go to. It was always too dangerous. But something made him explore it. 20 minutes later we get across, and then the rover has us slowly climb back up the other side. After getting on top of the cliff, I see footprints but they weren't my dads. In fact, I don't think they were footprints

I told the rover to stay put, sleep to conserve fuel. He had a half a tank but it is wise to keep our fuel for crossing. So I follow these steps and I get about 10 miles away from the rocket to see my dad floating away from the rocket. I call my dad, I holler for him. I keep calling but he doesn't respond. I see his notes. I take a read from it and begin to cry

		Dads Final Note; Dear Tommy if you are reading this, I am now long gone and probably frozen to death. I tried my best but this creature came out of nowhere and attacked me. It was like an octopus with sharp talons and fangs. Anyway, just remember I love you and always will, love you sincerely, from your father Ben. Also please send anything you can to your sister, and tell her I love her as well. I feel you and her will reunite someday. 

I started crying really hard, I mean I just couldn't bear seeing my dad's blood on this note. I also couldn't stand seeing my dad's lifeless frozen corpse floating in outer space. I couldn't even bury him because he was gone. I had to do something. I can't even wipe my tears off because I was wearing a spacesuit. I went back to the rocket and got out of my suit. I started crying more and more. I mean after my birthday this all happens, I guess birthdays are bad luck. I mean, now this is terrible. So I wiped my tears off, got out of the ship dressed, and buried all of dad's stuff in honor of his magnificent sacrifice. 

My father was all about saving people. In fact if it wasn't for him back on earth in 2024, we wouldn't even have colony ships or even have any of this happen. He was a world renowned physicist and expert cook. My Mom however, we don't know. All he ever told us about her was she was gone after I and my sister were born. My sister was older than me by 1 minute. Yeah, mom passed away while giving birth to us. It was sad. Now you know why I'm more alone than ever before. My sister back on Earth. Refused to leave, said she could save it someday. Stubborn. 
	02/13/2026; 3:03 pm: Friday the 13th Well this interesting for sure. I think I'm finally going to see something extremely different today. Tommy Rodriguez Synfield will see a new planet. The first time in history for anyone to witness a new planet. It's waters were red, the skies were blue. I was hopeful again. I had one month of oxygen to spare. I decided I'll launch the rocket off this chunk of ice once and for all. I used a rover to fuel the rocket, and had to navigate the ship outside of the asteroids comet trail. Lost a side flap. Then slam all my thrust had stopped. I was going the wrong way. I looked out from the front of the rocket to see I was being pulled into this giant black sphere looking thing. Why was I doomed with bad luck, why. 

So I figured I was a goner and this is my last journal log to date. Tidalina, I love you my Sister and I hope your adventures help you out better than my life will ever do. Here is a gift from me to you if you ever receive it, please share it and spread hope around the world. There is a planet that has a wormhole near it. I sure as hell hope it's a wormhole. But the planet also looks somewhat liveable. If you receive this in the glass case I put everything in, Enjoy. I gave the rest of the food I had in it as well. With a note on it, "DO NOT EVER MAKE THIS AWFUL FROZEN SPAGHETTI VERSION EVER AGAIN, I WILL HAUNT YOU IF YOU DO! INSTEAD, MAKE ALL FROZEN MEALS BURRITOS AT LEAST! THANK YOU VERY MUCH!" I love you my sis, take care and I have no clue where I'll be, whether I'll be alive or dead, this is goodbye. 

So I put my journal, dad's journal, and everything I could think of, in the glass case and let it fly away from the ship using the rover to give it a boost away from the planet into outer space. I feel intense pressure pulling on me. It felt so weird. It was like I wasn't even me. Finally, I can say I had my last adventure.

As I read this being Tidalina, I finally got his glass case with everything in it, luckily before it burned up. A colony ship had grabbed it, and sent it to me. I cried for hours and hours, but now I'm going to outer space to look for my brother. I will find him, even if his body is gone or dead, at least he'll know I'll find him. Love Tidalina.

So we have gravity blocks like sand, anvils, concrete powder and stuff. Now this part might not make to much sense but waxing usually makes things slippery sometimes, right? Or maybe a way we can make it slippery, but I felt waxing be best route.

waxed blocks stop falling until pushed

So what I was thinking when you wax a gravity block, it will no longer fall. But act like a regular block.

But difference is the kicker here, when you push it via piston it will slide sideways the direction it was pushed. And will continue to slide across land as it had no gravity until it hits another block then reverts back to a soilid waxed gravity block. Except if pushed downward or upward, then they revert to gravity affected blocks again

They'd still fall normally until waxed, but once waxed, they'd basically fall sideways. Weird to say that. Like a slippery block.

This could be useful for mini-games and redstone and many other things.

If pushed down or up, it'll become unwaxed and be a normal gravity block again.

• Summary; Wax gravity blocks to make them stay solid until pushed and then slide across blocks when pushed horizontally until it hits another solid then reverts back to waxed gravity block until pushed again, then if pushed down or up, reverts to regular affected gravity block. You can't stand on it as its still an gravity affected block. But it can push you.

So overlays are used a lot everywhere in game. Even gui's. My thought though is let's say we don't want to override a skybox or moon or something but add to it. This is where this would come in to play. you'd normally create your overlay/gui then put faraway. then you'd have option to draw it in the skybox as an overlay. you'd control these things

• sky location/render = skybox, outersky, inner sky, outer player, inner player, etc
• opacity
• colors
• image
• Distance from player - in your face like pumpkin to skybox distance or in between
• dimension
• skins
• optional control through procedure system - idea by Ray

this could be super helpful to not really on particles or etc to create rainbows, double moons, etc. And not to complicated for use, it would just have game draw it in over the top of existing.

it would let creators add sky effects without fighting the vanilla sky basically, it would allow dimensions to drastically improve, feel more unique. like you ever wanted nether to have blue or black lightning in it? you could do this with this.

As this is an overlay drawn it would drastically improve performance as your just drawing an image at correct spot, instead of multiple images in one spot over distance using particle spam.

This could even benefit minecraft itself by say simulating meteor showers, distant rainfall instead of in your face, weather, etc

More control then normal. It could even support parallax or panoramic overlay settings. all because its drawn over to top as an overlay.

If implemented in a decent way, it could be done through datapacks

This would also help improve resource packs

Basically we have a skybox but what if we drew over it with another skybox with control

Summary:

• Techincal summary

Faraway Overlay would be another render layer system that lets many people from users to devs to draw images, color effects, etc at different perceived distances, from close screen overlays to skybox distance visuals, without affecting or changing the skybox or relying on particles or entities. it could be used on entities for custom skins in a way like say adding oil or sticky tar or honey to player as an effect.

• non technical summary

lets creators,mapmakers,devs create an artificial or fake controlled distant controlled skybox up close or far away to improve weather, sky,dimensions,etc. things get fancier with improved performance control
