Bus Linie 23 - beschweren

EC with 9 month old - leg warmers knitting ideas

It's getting colder and colder and I would like to knit 🧶 leg warmers for my baby. I've never knitted before so I was wondering if anyone here has a suggestion.

Places to go with a baby

We're visiting in early September.

Are there any places or activities to do with babies?

I mean, not necessarily activities for the babies but that the babies can join us. For example, babies cannot join if we do extreme sports.

So, chill things b

How is the diarrhea symptom with a food intolerance/allergy?

Does it show up with or without a fever?

How long does it usually last?

Does it come with belly discomfort (cramps)?

I'm trying to figure out whether my baby had a reaction to sweet potatoes or whether he just caught something.

EC with 1 yo - onesies

I have a 7 month old baby and it's summer so we're not really using onesies at this point.

Our neighbor gave us some old clothes including a few onesies. I'm in the process of washing them but thought they might not be practical in the long run. Yeah, they are cozy but even now I rather have my baby in just a t-shirt and a diaper. If he's wearing a body I'm usually not even snapping it on the bottom.

I think I will just give them away... Right?

[Breastfed] How long to reintroduce dairy?

TLDR: after initial two months of elimination and introduction, how much time have you waited? Another two months (even tho baby seems to have healed)?

Long story:

My 6 month old baby's more evident symptom is blood in stool. I already stopped dairy for two months and introduced it (we think that actually soy might be a trigger). I introduced milk on my diet but was not strict on avoiding soy because I didn't think he could have a reaction until it was very evident.

Now it's been a month without dairy nor soy and 3 weeks without eggs.

Poop has improved a lot. I think there were three days in a row without any blood specks. I'm also suspecting an oversupply inflammation every now and then because it comes and goes throughout the day and it's very very little.

We think:

Soy is upper GI trigger

Egg is lower GI trigger

I think milk was never a trigger to begin with but due to potentially still having soy and eggs in my diet during the first introduction, his pediatrician suggested eliminating it as well.

Now, I asked if I could reintroduce dairy on my diet and she said it was my decision.

Flixtrain with a 5 month old

I booked a ticket for myself. I'm planning on taking the stroller as luggage.

It did not occur to me to add a different seat for my baby since I assumed he would be on my lap the whole time.

Do I really need to pay for another seat even if he's not going to use it?

UPDATE:

I have to. I need to pay full price for my baby even if he can't physically sit on a seat. I can't book a single ticket for him nor add an additional traveller to my existing booking.

The response of customer support:
- To add child reservation you need to cancel this booking and make a new booking. There is no other option to add child reservation in existing booking

At this point, Deutsche Bahn would have been cheaper.

First poop of the day with almost no blood, blood throughout the day.

Sometimes the first poop of the day doesn't have visible blood or almost nothing. Then throughout the day it's more abundant. Always contained in mucus.

What could it be?

4 ½ month too stressed for naps

So that's it. I'be mostly nursed to sleep. Just maybe five times he's falling asleep with a pacifier or just by rocking him or wearing him.

I am trying to read sleepy signs and also anticipating when to start nursing him based on wake windows but he's just too stressed almost always and I need to get things done at home.

Like even shortly after waking up, sometimes, he seems stressed or hyped. And he's avoiding eye contact. Does this mean he needs longer naps? I know that if I nurse him after waking up he falls asleep again for a bit more. Is that something I should do?

He rarely cries but he complains by sighing and grunting and it gradually escalates to screaming.

I don't know how to tell if he's under stimulated, over stimulated, but I think that most of the time he's frustrated because he can't reach things, for example. And I guess doing a little effort to grab things wouldn't hurt so I don't always give him his toys.

I'm trying baby carrying and it's a hit or miss. Especially indoors it's more of a miss.

Walking while holding him (at home) has worked after he's been screaming. I've only done this twice. Perhaps I tried it another time but it didn't work.

I guess it doesn't help either the fact that I have a fast letdown so that annoys him. Although he can handle it when he's "asleep", I don't know how he manages that.

Pumping to reduce fast letdown is just not an option. I've tried but cleaning the pump several times a day and letting it dry can be done at home yeah, and when my husband is around but when I'm outside he needs to handle the letdown so I hope gets used to it more and more. And as I said, he can handle it.

Nights on the other hand are great. He does wake up once every two hours or so, but falls asleep almost immediately after latching and sometimes drinks a lot. It's like he's just checking he's not alone.

Today I tried to have skin to skin his bare legs and my chest and arms. That calmed him down. I didn't try it before because he was very violently rubbing his feet and my husband suggested to always keep him with pants and socks when preparing for a nap, to prevent him from hurting himself.

Any more ideas? I feel like everything I need to to try something different. Haven't found something that works works.
