Are they safe for beardie? I grew them myself
The guy I got him from gave him up because he was “too aggressive”… suuuureeee… after a week or 2 he’s like this with me.
His name is Smokey, but what would his warrior name be?
Do you guys kiss your scaley babies? I have kissed mine for years and have never gotten sick. How common is salmonella really? It feels like fear mongering from reptiles haters. I know they can carry it but is it as bad as people say?
Got this little man recently and he’s pretty nervous but allows me to hold him for short periods of time. I just gave him a bath and he’s been chilling here for a few minutes and he seems relaxed. Is he relaxed or just freezing up from fear?
Second image is his normal color. I think it’s just natural coloring but I just want to be sure. I had a beardie with yellow fungus 3 months ago, I cleaned everything and my house is well ventilated and dry. I’m really worried
The two dragons I’ve had longterm all seem to enjoy swimming, baths and id occasionally bring them to swim in the pool (always monitored and right by me, they were bathed after in fresh water).
Ok, so, her lore is that she owns a reptile sanctuary and is implicated in a murder she didn’t commit (idk what exactly happens I’m still thinking about it). Her name is Claire Meleon. For all of my ocs/self inserts I just use my fursona but just wearing a different outfit, you can find her ref sheet on my profile. She’s going to be shipped with miles edgeworth <3
I need some help with designing the color and patterns of her clothes (except her outer shirt, I like the pattern)
This is Smokey, I adopted/rescued him 2 days ago. I already knew they are prone to health issues but I didn’t know how bad it was! He’s 4 months old, and seems healthy as of now. I’m so sad thinking about the heartbreak I will have to face in the future. I’m going to take him to the vet every 6 months to help him stay healthy. I want to give him the best life possible. I have 5+ years of experience so hopefully I can do well for him.
I just adopted a 4 month old red monster, will he be as affectionate as other common Beardies? Or does the morph not matter? My beardie of 5 years passed recently (she was pretty commonly colored) and she was very affectionate and I’d love him to be as affectionate as her.
How warm should my Beardies basking spot be?
Anybody looking to rehome a bearded dragon? Dm me to discuss further, I’d gladly take them as long as they are healthy!
Anybody in the Orange County (SoCal) area looking to rehome a bearded dragon? Dm me to discuss further.
I weighed my gecko on June 19th, she weighed 65 grams. I’ve been cutting down on food but I’m going to start keeping track of when I feed her.
I bring her out to play fairly often
About 1 1/2 months ago I unknowingly adopted a bearded dragon that had yellow fungus. I only took him out of his tank once to run around in a little play pen (play pen and all items inside were discarded.) after taking the dragon back to the shelter a few days after adopting him, I cleaned all my other animals tanks (ball python, crested gecko, dumpy frog) and put them all in a separate room. I soaked all the wood in the enclosures in bleach and used vet grade cleaner and steam cleaned on each tank. My house is well ventilated and dry. I have ocd and anxiety and this has taken a toll on me. I don’t know what else there is to do. I’m exhausted. I’m scared the spores are everywhere and they will never leave. I heard the spores will eventually die off in a few months but I don’t know.
I didn’t use much protective gear while cleaning but I did wash my hands often. I touched a few surfaces in my room after touching the dragon but I sprayed those commonly touched places with vet grade cleaner, and I’m going to spray down more surfaces in the house soon, I’ve been depressed and haven’t gotten to it yet. I’m posting this again because I received no advice or help and I am desperate.
Hello, a month or so ago I adopted a bearded dragon for a few days and I found out it had yellow fungus and sent it back to the shelter immediately. My family is planning on calling professionals to help clean spores in the house (they may not clean every single spore). I’m in desperate need of a companion animal, and I was wondering if a blue tongue skink could be a good option? Are they at a high risk for yfd? I don’t want to bring them into my house if there’s a chance they will get sick
