Freenote RJ-1 Jacket

Snagged a Freenote RJ1 Jacket (Tobacco, Large). Was worried about sizing after reading up on the sub, but I honestly really like how it feels. Just enough layer room without feeling loose or slouchy.

Sleeves could be a hair shorter, but I think the natural creasing of the waxed canvas over time might actually solve that on its own.

It makes me look much cooler than I actually am, and I'm here for it.

My Kickstarter $38 Ridge Wallet, 13 Years Later

Just noticed today that after over a decade my KS Ridge is so worn that you can barely see the Ridge logo anymore.

I know some folks hate them, but it's served me pretty well for a hot minute.

Dinged to hell and back, but still hanging in there!

(EDIT: Got a message to post a list, haven't posted here much sorry -

2013 KS Ridge

Kinda in the background is a:

Stisken 105 dadcap hat

an old karas kustoms bolt pen,

a hamilton field khaki watch

blurry comic books

the base of a lamp.)

Brands with Quality Content a la SEH Kelly

Hiya folks,

I was browsing for a new business casual jacket recently and stumbled on SEH Kelly.

I snagged the SB jacket in linen hopsack after looking up the brand a bit (which seems super loved and reputable, and unfortunately in the aftermath of tragedy with the recent passing of a co-owner).

But just as much as the love and care in the jacket itself, the website was just as impressive. Whether you like the jacket or not just scroll through that link above. That's a cut above in terms of care and thought on content. The website generally also has a lot of solid content, clearly a ton of thought and effort.

Are there any other brands that stick out like this? More just a curiosity than anything else, it's not necessary but I'm susceptible to being dazzled by someone that seems to really love what they've made.

Getting Used to Tucking Shirts

I get that's probably a weird title for a grown man in a fashion-related forum. But I used to be about 45lbs heavier, and disliked how it FELT LIKE (though a lot of you pull it off amazingly regardless of weight) tucking in a shirt accentuated my belly.

Reconditioning decades of avoidance, but I think this looked pretty nice today tucked in.

The stuff (5'11 190lb): Knickerbocker Canal Pleated Denim and Linen Short (36)

Freenote Cayucos Jacquard Navy shirt (M)

Hank's Belts Crazy Horse (36)

Sperry Gold Cup Brown (12)

Basement Waterproofing Recommendations

Hiya folks,

Honestly just as the title says, looking for local basement waterproofing recommendations based on local positive experiences, if anyone happens to have any.

Thanks!

Two bookmarks for the first comic my son and I are reading at once

I've had this on my Shelf of Opportunity for almost a year now, and my eight year old son recently started getting into Transformers models and the 80s cartoon. I pulled it down and started reading a bit to make sure it would be okay for him.

It's gritty, but in a balanced way and the characters are still very much themselves. He loves it! I've gotten him some kid-oriented graphic novels in the past, but this is the first we're reading at the same time and enjoying equally.

I'll keep reading ahead to make sure nothing too intense or crazy happens, but it's a fun bit of bonding discussing the characters and the story, and I suspect this will be a very nostalgic book for me now.

New to nice clothes, I really like Freenote

I've been trying to generally dress nicer, with more thought not just to style but longevity, construction, materials, origin.

Recently took advantage of the Freenote sale and snagged the Vagabond Twill pant and my first chambray shirt in the calico dusty blue.

I have large thighs and I really like the Freenote pants, the perfect mix of comfort but confidence that I look reasonably nice that I don't feel very often at once. I have some jeans from them as well but it's apparently going to take a metric fuckton of breaking them in before they feel as comfy as these do (they also look nice though, so props to Freenote for that too).

The chambray feels like it strikes a super convenient middle ground between casual and formal. I love the convenience / flexibility of it. I recently watched a cool knowledgeable YouTube fashion fella called "Peter's Prism" who convinced me to purchase a chambray, and I think I get what all y'all have known all along now!

Anyway I'm tipsy after work in a bar bathroom and just wanted to share since I like my purchases. Criticism or suggestion welcome

Took my kids to a pioneer village, was tickled / impressed by the manufacturing process and material chain of custody for the Throckmorton Coat after a bet it could be made in one day
