Agenda Free Topics (hoping for rants on TNF)

I am begging for Felger and Big Jim to crucify both Dallas and Tampa for their idiotic coaching decisions last night. Dallas in general played like a horrifically coached team (not surprising...), but I hope they lay into Tampa choosing to pass over going up 3 scores to instead go for it on 4th at the 1yd. And then Dallas doing the idiotic aNaLyTiCaL decision of going for 2pt after their TD

Teens

This is NOT a *sh!tting on teens* post, it's genuine

I'm currently sitting in front of a mirror doing shoulder presses and there are 2 teen boys behind me, cant be older than 15yr tops.. and they are curling 50 & 60lb barbells - while being thin as rails. They can't do a single one without leaning back and humping it up

I'm asking - I know the myth (at least when I was younger) that young teens shouldn't do any weight training because it's bad for their growth has largely been disproven.. but is it inherently more dangerous for young teens to do terrible (form) weight training than grown adults? I'm honestly dying inside watching them struggle with weight they have no business lifting (it seems).

Museum of Science & the T

I'm thinking of taking my nieces (11, 7) to the Museum of Science on Tuesday - has anyone recently taken their kids (preferably same ages) there, and did they enjoy it?

Ive been as an adult years ago, but never brought kids - but id think it would still be awesome for them (they enjoy the Science week they go to each summer).

Also for those with kids: I'm coming from Southern NH, I normally drive South until I jump on the Orange Line when I'm going into Boston - would you recommend doing the same or driving straight to the Museum (I dont know the parking situation)? Thanks in advance

Is it me? Am I the old man yelling at the clouds about proper etiquette?

I'm 36 (so not actually an old man) and I go to the gym overnight (10p-4a) about 80% of the time - and it's wonderful. Zero issues because theres hardly anyone there. But when I go during the day I am constantly dumbfounded how oblivious some people are to common courtesy.

I'm largely talking about people who will bring over 4 different pairs of dumbbells (again, im talking about when it's BUSY. Doing this at midnight is no issue) and using each pair once every few minutes.

And also people who will put their bench squarely in the middle of the mirror so theres no room for another bench in front of that mirror. My gym has 4 large panes of mirror behind the dumbbells (large enough to comfortably have 2 people in front of them), but I'm constantly seeing people put their bench in the middle so another bench basically is looking at the wall between the panes. Is it too much to ask for people to have common sense without having to be coached by other gym goers on how to not be a dick?

Honda & Toyota - Hybrid over Traditional?

I randomly came across some posts recently where I've seen people complaining about Honda Accords the last few generations having issues with their Turbo engines. I have a 2016 Accord and I love it, but it's approaching 200k and I want a new car. I drove a Camry my first 10 years driving, now an Accord for 10, and I loved them both

Hearing the Turbo engine issues has turned me off on getting a regular Accord, do the Honda Hybrids have any issues like the regular Accords have had recently?

And in general - if the price isnt an issue, do people generally prefer and suggest buying Hybrids over Traditional engine cars? In doing research it seems Honda and Toyota are regarded as 2 of the best brands for Hybrids. I'm honestly leaning towards Civic vs Corolla, I dont even really need mid-size cars anymore

Good first date restaurants?

First date tonight. I'm coming south from the lakes region and looking for good, but not too intimate or wildly expensive restaurant suggestions. Thanks in advance

First date ideas for your Mid 30s

This girl and I are both coming out of longer relationships and are in our mid/late 30s. What are people doing these days for first dates at that age?

I'm looking to create a fun night that she'll enjoy, so any help would be appreciated, and I can narrow down the recommendations based on what I know about her so far afterwards.

We're close to Rt 101, but not exactly near the few Cities

Maybe it's me. Maybe I'm just in a rut. But does anyone else dislike when Rebie throws the Gimmick into the rapid fire segment where she wants Brian/Bo to include a dad joke, or a Disney reference, etc?

I was hesitant when they introduced the Rapid Fire segment to begin with, but they really mastered it and i enjoy holding their feet to the fire to answer quickly, it's been a success imo. But it seems like Brian half the time will focus more on the pun than the actual answer. I dont know, I just think they should scrap that part of the rapid fire and just stick to answering the question in full and not add a joke/reference.

Millenial male - I Donate platelets at the Red Cross every 2 weeks, been doing it for years, so i roughly know my average BP. Over the last couple months more often than not ive had the same worker checking my vitals, hooking me up to the machine, and/or unhooking me when I'm done: shes incredibly nice, my age, pretty, and ive gotten to know her more than any other worker there by far

Well, I just checked my app and noticed my BP has risen each of the last 3 appointments (she checked my vitals each time). In hindsight during the last check-in she asked if I was nervous, I said no and didn't think anything of it - but looking at it now my BP was very high. Now I have to wonder if I'm catching feelings or i need to actually start taking my BP seriously lol

Edit - looking at when I went to the doctors about a month ago: my BP was 116/78. So.. thats interesting
