PHARMACY TECH CANADA FRENCH or ENGLISH Dilemma and resources

Hi everyone,
I want to start preparing to take the PEBC Pharmacy Technician Qualifying Exam and plan to request to write it in French ( in a year from now cause im going to do school first)
I have a few questions about finding study resources and test banks:

  1. What are the best overall study resources or question banks you used to pass the MCQ?
  2. Are there any free practice question banks, Quizlet decks, or mock quizzes that were actually helpful?
  3. For anyone who took or prepared for the exam in French: Did you find any good French practice materials, or did you study using English question banks and translate them?

I especially need advice on my third question because it is my main concern right now. Since I want to take the OSPE practical exam in French since i feel more comfortable doing that part in French, I also HAVE to register and write the MCQ exam in French. So far, my research shows almost no dedicated French study materials or practice question banks for PEBC technicians. I am really afraid that preparing in English and then taking the actual exam in French will be confusing and counterproductive, especially with medical terminology and law questions. If anyone has been in this situation, how did you handle it? Did studying in English and translating as you went work for you, or did you find specific French pharmacy materials to prepare?

Thanks in advance for any tips or advice!

BJO application submitted yesterday, Sept start date — panic mode

Hey everyone,
I’m losing sleep over this and just need a realistic perspective on timelines.
My counselor submitted my application yesterday, and I got the Ministry intake email assigning a consultant the same afternoon. The standard processing time is 15 business days, which puts a decision right at the end of August.
My program starts in early September, and I'm panicking about two main things:

  1. Am I going to cut it on time, or does the August application rush usually push files past the start date?
  2. What are my actual chances of getting approved? My counselor calculated my suitability score at 18 (and I know 16 is the passing threshold, though I know that's not the only factor taken into account).
Has anyone who went through BJO around this time of year gotten their answer back in a week or two, or should I be bracing for delays?
    Appreciate any insight!

Does BJO’s living allowance get reduced because of savings, or is it only based on income?

I have $20k in savings (spent $10k already while job hunting with no luck) Not asking about eligibility

I know that part. Just asking: does having savings in the bank reduce the weekly living allowance, or does BJO only look at income (EI, employment income, etc.) for that calculation?

Does saving in the bank count against me at all ?

Does a PEBC Document Evaluation for immigration (ECA) transfer over to the Pharmacy Technician pathway?

Hey everyone,

I recently completed my PEBC Document Evaluation for immigration purposes (the Educational Credential Assessment / ECA) to get my express entry/PR sorted. Now that I’m looking into the actual career steps, I’ve decided I want to pursue the Pharmacy Technician path rather than the full pharmacist license right away.

Looking at the PEBC website, the Pharmacist and Pharmacy Technician streams seem completely separate.

My question is: because I already had my pharmacy degree/documents evaluated for immigration through PEBC, can that evaluation transition directly into the Pharmacy Technician pathway? Or do I have to completely re-register, open a new file, and pay to have my international documents evaluated all over again under the Tech stream?

Would love to hear from any International Pharmacy Graduates (IPGs) who have made this specific transition. Thanks!

[CAN-ON] Already auto-rejected from Costco/Walmart for checking "Yes" to past termination. How can I counter this system on a re-application?

Hey everyone,

I’m looking for some realistic insight from retail managers or HR folks who work with corporate applicant tracking systems (like Workday).

About a year ago, I was wrongfully terminated from a position in Quebec involving a very toxic situation and harassment. I am currently in an ongoing legal battle through the labor board (CNESST) to contest it. Since then, I’ve successfully held another job with no issues.

A few months ago, I applied online to major retail companies like Costco, Walmart, etc. I wanted to be honest, so when the online questionnaire asked if I had ever been dismissed or terminated, I checked Yes. Unsurprisingly, I never heard back from a single one. I now understand that checking "Yes" triggers an automatic filter that instantly rejects the application before a human being ever sees the resume. It is incredibly frustrating since my termination is literally an unsettled legal dispute.

I want to re-apply to these same companies, and this time I plan to check No so that a real human actually gets to look at my qualifications.

My questions are:

  1. Since I already applied on my main email and got filtered out, how can I counter this system? Should I just open a brand-new email address to create a fresh candidate profile?
  2. If I use a new email, will the software automatically link my name/info back to the old, archived application from a few months ago and flag it anyway?
  3. If the system does flag me as a returning applicant, do local store managers actually bother to click into archived files to see why someone was rejected previously, or do they only care about the active application on their screen?

I have great retail experience and open availability. I just want a fair shot without a computer algorithm blocking me permanently. Any insight into how the backend software handles this would be amazing. Thanks!

Full G : entering the highway

I’m taking my Ontario G road test soon at the Canotek DriveTest Centre, and I have a question about highway driving.

My instructor told me that when entering a 100 km/h highway, I should accelerate quickly on the on-ramp and get up to a high speed that matches highway traffic before merging. He also told me that once I’m on the highway, if conditions are good and traffic is flowing normally, I should maintain at least about 97 km/h and avoid driving below the speed limit, because the examiner could see that as unsafe or as failing to keep up with traffic.

Is this accurate? For the G test, is it expected that I stay very close to 100 km/h on a clear 100 km/h highway, or is it acceptable to drive around 90-95 km/h without losing points?

#Ottawa Walkley vs. Canotek for G2 and G road tests? Which one did you find easier?

Hey everyone,
I’m trying to decide between booking my upcoming road tests at the Walkley or Canotek DriveTest centres here in Ottawa.

How was your experience with the examiners there?

If you've tried both, which one actually felt "easier" or less stressful to pass?

Ps: im allowed to pass the full G directly but i don’t know if i should book the g2 instead

How to get OSAP 12-month residency rule waived after moving from QC and getting PR?

I’m looking for some advice on how to get the 12-month residency rule waived by OSAP.

I recently moved from Quebec to Ontario. Before the move, I was living in Quebec on a temporary work permit, so I have never attended school or been a student there.

While my Permanent Residency (PR) was in progress, I moved to Ontario, and I have since received my PR status and my new permanent SIN.
I’m planning to start a program here soon, but because I haven’t physically been in Ontario for a full year yet, I know the automated OSAP system is going to flag me and say I'm not eligible.

Has anyone who transitioned from a work permit in another province to PR in Ontario successfully bypassed the 12-month rule through their school's financial aid office?

What can i do please!
Thanks!

Question : Just got G1 with foreign driving experience

Hey everyone,

I just passed my G1 knowledge test in Ontario. DriveTest approved my foreign driving experience, so I have the option to skip the G2 entirely and go straight to the final Full G road test.

I want to know what happens if I fail the Full G test on that first try?

Specifically:

1 If I fail, do I lose my foreign experience credit entirely?

2 I know I will have to drop back and take the G2 test instead, but do the standard 8-to-12-month waiting periods kick back in, or can I do the G2 and then the Full G right after each other?

Guy asking about dollarama face serum

I have a basic routine
Cereve face wash and a moisturizer if I remember to apply it

Now I bought this and I have no idea how it works. It just says. Use it after cleansing and before moisturizing. It says use a few drops and leave to fully absorb in the skin.

My question is, should I rub it all over my face afterwards?

Thank you bye
