Update on my leaf raking mod: you can jump into the piles now :D

I posted the first prototype of this here recently and got way more feedback than I expected, so I kept working on it.

It feels a lot less prototype-y now. The leaves rustle and kick up little particles when you walk through them, and as you rake them together they build up into progressively larger piles.

You can jump into the bigger piles now too. They soften your fall, make a bigger rustle, and a hard enough landing can scatter some of the leaves back out again.

I also reworked how the leaves function under the hood. Most of the time they stay static, and they only become temporary moving clusters while they're actually being raked or scattered. That seems to be keeping performance pretty light so far.

The pile models are still placeholder-ish, and I definitely want to keep polishing the visuals, but I'm really happy with how the interaction itself is starting to feel.

The next big step is the world side of it. I want forests to naturally generate leaf litter around trees, including support for modded trees, and eventually I want the leaves to slowly come back after you've cleaned an area.

Still very early, so feedback is absolutely welcome :)

Would you play a chill Minecraft mod about cleaning up leaves?

Random idea I had and decided to prototype it.

The basic idea is just something really chill to play while watching YouTube or listening to music. You rake leaves together, make piles and later I could build more stuff around it.

It's super early right now so pretty much everything you see is placeholder.

I'm mostly curious if the core idea actually sounds fun to other people or if it's just me :D
What would you add to something like this?

PocketTune – An open-source synchronized YouTube speaker mod for NeoForge 1.21.4 (Looking for feedback)

Hi everyone!

I've been working on PocketTune, an open-source NeoForge mod that adds portable speakers with synchronized YouTube playback.

Features include:

• YouTube videos & playlists

• Multiplayer synchronized playback

• Spatial audio

• Portable speakers

• Queue management

• Live equalizer

• Server-authoritative playback

The project is still under active development, and I'd love feedback from the modding community.

I built an open-source YouTube speaker mod for Minecraft with synchronized multiplayer playback (NeoForge 1.21.4)

Hi everyone!

For the past few months I've been building PocketTune, an open-source Minecraft mod focused on synchronized music playback.

Instead of every player hearing different sounds, the server controls the playback state while each client plays the audio locally.

The result is synchronized music that feels like it's actually coming from a speaker inside the world.

Some highlights:

🎵 YouTube video & playlist support

🔊 Spatial audio with wall occlusion

👥 Multiplayer synchronized playback

📦 Portable speakers that keep their playlist

🖱️ Drag-and-drop queue management

🎚️ Live equalizer & attenuation controls

⚡ Lightweight (yt-dlp + mpv, no browser embedded)

🛠 Fully open source (Apache-2.0)

One thing I'm especially proud of is that the repository was designed to be AI-friendly.

It contains:

• Architecture documentation

• Development guides

• AI-specific prompts

• Repository rules shared across Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf and Cline

The goal is that both humans and AI coding assistants can understand and contribute quickly.

I'd love feedback from both Minecraft players and mod developers.

• Does the synchronization approach make sense?

• What features would you add?

• Any concerns about performance or UX?

I'd really appreciate any feedback!
