85-110pp++ budget

Would consider almost anywhere if I can find this budget for venue, food, drinks. I’ve found 2 so far in Queens and now looking to see if I can expand that list upstate.

Thank you very much!

Brokerage Account? Next steps?

Not sure what my next steps financially should be.

F28 in NYC

Monthly expenses including savings: 3-4k
Yearly income: 1099 individual 50-70k yearly

Net worth:
$100,000

Approximately allocated-
Checking: 5k
HYS: 75k
Roth IRA: (maxed out) 20k
0 debt

Future goals: buy property

I use fidelity for my Roth IRA so would likely use Fidelity Brokerage. Not sure how much to put in if I go that route.

Advice?

Additional info:
-No help from parents - will likely be supporting them in the future. Neither own property or have much in savings/retirement
-paid off my student loans in 2024 after a decade of body deteriorating restaurant work and singing at weddings

My nervous system is shot

I am worried I will never get used to my ring. The setting is BEAUTIFUL. I wish it was prepared with a smaller center stone. It doesn’t look proportional to my hand and I am worried I’ll feel this way for a long time.

I have the best partner in the world who doesn’t fault me for any of my feelings and insists if I really feel this way he will get a new ring for me. But I feel INSANE about that.

Currently the center stone is 1.51 carats. I wish it was 1 carat. Maybe even smaller. I feel like that sounds so dumb, but I have small fingers and I am not a fan of large stones. I don’t wear makeup when not on the clock (I am a wedding singer funny enough) and I don’t often have my nails done. I think it makes my hands look bigger/thicker than they do without the ring on.

I really do love my setting. It is glittery and vintage inspired and I wouldn’t change a thing. I just wish the whole thing could proportionally shrink.

It is also a hair too tight on my finger which is definitely adding to my sensory anxiety. It is sized at 5.25 but I think needs to be a tiny bit bigger. At least in this summer heat it does.

My proposal was so beautiful and thoughtful and somehow (while being the most aware of everything person in the world who is famously impossible to surprise) my partner pulled off a MAJOR surprise. I had no makeup on and was totally shell shocked. He hired our band (trumpets, saxophone, etc) to come around the corner at Grand Central Station on what I thought was a casual commute. It was so romantic, but my body went into shock I think (lol) (but actually) and I am still trying to regulate back to normal. (It’s been almost a week now).

I am also pretty disappointed because we don’t have photos of the proposal and I was so dizzy from the emotions that I wish I could relive it and see it captured.

Anyway, I am mostly so happy and in love, but also ANXIOUS and overstimulated and sensory overloaded and this ring is SO BIG AND SPARKLY and I feel like I’m getting looks from strangers and I need some form of support from this thread whether it is to calm tf down or seriously consider downsizing.

Please be gentle with either side of what you choose to say, I clearly can’t handle much else right now lol

Could you name your kids after an ex?

My most significant ex is Billy. His is Johanna. Funny enough, we both love each other’s exes names!
I would choose Johanna in a heartbeat and he would choose Billy.

If you had to name your children after your partner’s exes, would you at least like the name?

(Honestly, I’d be emotionally fine to choose both of these names IRL if everyone in our lives didn’t know the history LOL)
