Hey, so I'm one of the main mods that represents r/CanadaGuns. I was going to send this as a modmail, but I feel like I should have this as a public post in case other gun related subs have this issue.
So, a recent issue me and my mod team has seen is that every now and then, like every 2 weeks, the Reddit Admin AI (or humans) likes to go on a banning spree, banning users who post anything that seems to mention any **LEGAL** gun vendors and merchants, or even non-gun stores that sell gun safety equipment on the internet in Canada; links, names, abbreviations, etc.
We're well aware that private person to person sales are not allowed, and we remove such content when we're notified/find it ourselves, but a lot of our users are getting banned for the most innocuous reasons.
We once had a post where someone asked, "Any recommendations on where I can buy a big gun safe for cheap?", and we had a commenter post a link to an online furniture catalogue site in Canada, so not even a gun store, that had a gun safe for sale. The user who posted that link was banned 2 days later under Platform Rule 7.
Last week, we had someone post, "What are some good online firearm retailers in Canada that are trustworthy?". A commenter mentioned 9 stores. Just abbreviations, no links, ads, sales, prices or anything, and that commenter was banned as well under Rule 7 for about 2 days before Reddit admins accepted their appeal and reinstated their account.
Can we please get clarification on what is and IS NOT allowed on Reddit when comes to the topic of legal vendors and store that either directly or indirectly sell anything gun related (safety equipment, accessories, gun themselves, etc.)
We've basically had it where no one can mention prices at all, no one can post links to legal vendors, and any posted images with guns and prices have to be censored, (etc.), but it seems all our efforts to prevent people getting banned site wide under Rule 7 has become futile and now I'm here trying to stop people from losing their accounts...
Thanks in advance, and sorry for the long post!
It's out now, and as requested, I will be posting here for all to see. Enjoy! Also, please give Freak a follow on Instagram @freakfest-fixations if you haven't already.
Freak has released her newest comic on her paid Patreon. She also said in the same Patreon post that public/Instagram releases will now be delayed for "at least a couple of days after I post on Patreon," so regrettably, free subscribers/Instagram followers will have to wait longer.
If you haven't already, you can find her Patreon here!.
Comic is 18 pages long and sweet, and is going to set the narrative going forward on her next comic series!
Supposedly, this route was going to be numbered Route 166 and is shown as such on the paper system maps being posted at bus stations, but it's now been renumbered to Route 565, and will operate as an Express route as opposed to a Local Limited Service Route. This explains why some trips on Route 566 will extend to Innovation Station, presumably to extend from Innovation to NDHQ as Route 166/565.
These are the maps for 6 new express routes that will start operating when the fall service changes come into effect. Routes 526, 539, 561, 562, 563, 566.
I think this is 3 separate FunnyBunny comics, but unsure since they're not numbered. They're all amazing, though.
Freakfest-fixations over on Patreon has now released their MUCH anticipated "Smut" comic, which acts as a VERY HOT filler/in between for "First Date" (Part 15). Just had a look at it, and oh yeah... They go, ughh... Deep... Let's put it that way.
As confirmed by Freak, this is a Patreon paid subscriber EXCLUSIVE comic. "Smut" will not be released anywhere else: Not to the free tier Patreon subscribers, not Instagram, nowhere else.
If you were looking forward to this comic and you haven't already, I HIGHLY recommend you subscribe and basically buy Freak a Starbucks cup of coffee, even if it's just for this one comic. There's other "Smut's" Freak has made as well in the past, which you'll get access to those as well. It's very well done, you won't be disappointed.
Phase 1 of the pilot produced no problems, so we're moving onto the next phase! Have fun!

Hello everyone!
This is just a quick post to let you know that we've recently enabled Approved Users to comment videos within posts. If you are an approved user, you would have received a mod mail from us, so if you didn't receive a mod mail saying you're an approved user at any point in time, well, then you're not an approved user and you won't be able to partake in this pilot.
If you like to be an approved user/take part in this pilot, please send us a mod mail and we will do our checks to make sure you'd be a good fit to have a little more freedom.
We're doing 2 phases. 1st phase we're going to trial it for 2 weeks, until July 17th. If successful and it doesn't cause problems, then we'll move on to phase 2.
Phase 2, we'll roll out the feature to everyone, then closely monitor it for another 2 weeks until July 31st. If the full 4 weeks produce very little to no problems, then we will make this feature permanent for everyone.
Our point of enabling video comments is to just standardize media options with Reddit as a whole, as many subs have it enabled and I think video comments would be helpful for the "fix my gun" type posts.
Thanks everyone!
Today's storm outlook is looking much more grim than yesterday, with ECCC issuing a level 3/4 high risk for severe weather.
Today's possible hazards include:
- 90-110 km/h straight line wind gust
- 2-4 cm hail
- 30-50 mm of rain
- A tornado or two is also possible
Please be weather aware today, especially if you're going to be attending Canada Day Festivities!
Lots of clips showing OC Transpo in 1993... No music overlay, just raw transit bus sounds from the 90s. Enjoy!
Here's a 25-minute ride on an Orion III articulated bus operating as Route 95 from downtown to Place d'Orleans Mall via Hwy. 17 (today's Hwy. 174).
Here's some perspective on how long ago this was:
- The 1990 New Fyler D40HF's are brand spanking new.
- Canal Station (renamed to Mackenzie King Station in 1992) is brand new, only just opening in 1990.
- Abbey (Todays Lycée Claudel), Smyth and Riverside Stations just opened up in June 1991 as part of the first phase of the Southern Transitway. The rest of the stations on the Southern Transitway didn't exist.
- Blair station is only 2 years old, opening in 1989.
- Place d'Orleans Station/Park & Ride didn't exist (was under construction as seen in the video).
Is crazy how all of this has changed in 40 years.
TL;DR: Admins feathers are getting ruffled. Stop posting links to guns and gun parts, be mindful of edgy jokes, otherwise Reddit Admins man smack you with the ban hammer, and there's nothing us subreddit admins can do if Reddit admins ban you.
Full: Hey, everyone! I'm just writing this post as the mod team has seen a nearly tenfold increase in Reddit Admin actions in this sub in just the last week alone.
First off, you may be asking, "What the hell do you mean by "Reddit Admin actions"?". Well, as it may imply to some, it basically means Reddit Admin gods giving us their blessing condemnation of certain users and sending them straight to hell Reddit jail for prolonged periods of time, or even permanently.
Most of these Admin actions were triggered by users posting links to sites that sell guns and gun parts. Now, that's already against the rules, and we mods remove it under rule 6 when we see it or when it gets flagged/reported, BUT, even though you get the message that "mods have removed your comment", your comment is actually still "live" to Reddit admins if you don't manually delete the comment yourself.
We had an recent bizarre example where even though us subreddit admins took enforcement action against a user for posting links to gun ads 11 days ago, Reddit Admins notified us TODAY that they "removed their comment" and suspended their account, even though it was already removed by me literally 30 mins after the user commented the offending link.
We've also seen other bizarre enforcement actions from admins, targeting obvious jokes within our community, with comments such as:
>"You won’t take my tim cards and now you insult me on Reddit, f* k you too and s *k my nUt filled cheeks".
and
>"U SHOLD NOT HAVE GUNB BC GUNVS ARE BADD AND IF NOONE HAS A GUNT EVRY1 IS SAFE OVIOUSLY CRIMINALS R GETTING GUBS FROM LEGEL GUT OWNERZ SO U NEED 2 GIV UP UR GUNZ FOR NO $$$ BC IT’S THE RITE THING 2 DO IF U WAN OWN GUDS GO 2 USA!!!!1 COPS R RIGHTWING FASCIST THATS Y THEY DONT WANT 2 HELP W BAN!!!111. ONING GUNBS MAKES TEH CHANCES OF GETING SHOOT BY GUN GO UP 1,000,00000,000%!!!!1111. Y WOLD U WAN 2 OWN A GUM JUS PLAY COD OR SMH LIEK 4 REAL!!!111"
being removed by Reddit Admins days later and having the users' accounts suspended.
So please, be mindful of what you post/comment. If Reddit Admins think it's "edgy," spam or trolling, it's possible Admins may smack you with a ban hammer, and if they do, WE HAVE NO CONTROL OVER IT. If your content is removed by us for violating sub rules, please consider deleting your comment so you don't get smacked by Reddit admins days later. These rules are here so that we protect you from having your account nuked.
Thanks, gunnies!
As per popular request, photo comments and GIFs are now live! Reddit is also rolling out video comments too very shortly. We will make an announcement when that goes live, as well! Enjoy!
Québec peeps, if you're like me wondering where our "dough" is while the rest of Canada gets their payout, the Québec Bread Settlement began paying out June 1st and will be paid out like it was everywhere else in Canada, where payout will be staggered and not everyone will get it at the same time.
