Does this sound more like PPPD than BPPV?

I was diagnosed with BPPV, but I don’t really have the typical spinning/rotational vertigo. Instead, I feel constantly dizzy in a weird way — almost like I’m sinking, floating, or about to faint. I also feel very disoriented, especially when I close my eyes and try to fall asleep.
My symptoms get much worse right before my period, and at night, when I’m trying to sleep, the sensation can become so intense that I genuinely feel like I’m dying.
Because I don’t really experience rotational vertigo, I’m wondering if this sounds more like PPPD rather than BPPV.
Has anyone with PPPD experienced this “sinking/floating/about to faint” sensation, especially when trying to fall asleep? And can PPPD get significantly worse around menstruation?
I’d really appreciate hearing from people who have experienced something similar.

BPPV diagnosis, but no spinning vertigo — has anyone experienced this?

I was diagnosed with BPPV, but my symptoms don’t really feel like typical vertigo. I don’t have the classic spinning sensation. Instead, I feel extremely dizzy/lightheaded, almost like I’m sinking, floating, or like I’m about to faint.
It gets much worse right before my period, and the worst part is when I try to fall asleep. As soon as I close my eyes and try to sleep, the sensation can become so intense that I genuinely feel like I’m going to die. It feels like I’m sinking/floating and losing my sense of orientation, rather than the room actually spinning.
Has anyone with BPPV experienced something similar, especially without rotational vertigo? Could BPPV cause this kind of non-spinning dizziness, or could something else be contributing to it?
I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has had similar symptoms.

Sleep issues

For the past 3 days, whenever I lie down and close my eyes to fall asleep, I suddenly feel like I’m falling into a void or spinning. Sometimes it feels like the whole image in my mind is rotating.
I also get very dizzy, my heart starts beating really fast, and sometimes I experience strange visual sensations/hallucination-like images as I’m falling asleep.
The weirdest part is that when I open my eyes, I feel normal again. But when I close them and try to fall asleep, it starts again.
I’m not consciously anxious or having a panic attack when this happens.
Has anyone experienced something similar? Does this sound like hypnagogic hallucinations, sleep-related sensations, or could it be vertigo/BPPV?
