Full ROM

I've been doing calisthenics for a while but I'd like to hear from some of you about the new dips we've been seeing online. The one with barely any ROM. What is the point of this?

Anyways here is me doing 135 x 4 with as much ROM as my shoulders can handle

Assisted Pull-Ups

A variation of assisted pull-ups that's a bit of a pain to set-up, but IMO much better than using bands. Bands generally give you the most help at the bottom, and the least at the top. This variation allows the resistance added to be consistent the entire movement for the most part. Progressing and regressing is also more straight forward.

I've used this for a few clients to get them to their first unassisted pull-up.

Hope it helps someone 👍🏽

1arm Pull-up question

I have been close to a 1 arm pull-up before through specific training (negatives, archers), but this time around I want to focus on weighted pull-ups for as long as I can. The reason for this is because doing weighted moves are a bit more measurable and linear, and I dont tend to feel as beat up in my joints.

For those who have a solid 1 arm pull-up, did you use weights to help get there? If so, what were your % of BW pull numbers like?

Current max is 125 for one, and this was at 200lb BW. Currently cutting and looking to get around 180-185lb BW, and build the weighted pull-up to 185 as well and test and see how the pull-ups feel.

RPT for Deadlifts

425 x 4 feeling strong. Trying to get as far as I can beltless.

Currently doing a reverse pyramid starting at 2-4 reps for the first set, and backing off around 10% for 2 more sets at around 4-6, and 6-8 reps. Im cutting so keeping volume relatively low.

Progress has been steady, we will see how long we can ride this wave. 💪🏽

Weighted dips always in style

120x4 for the first set, then I reduced the weight to get to 6-8, and then 8-10 (reverse pyramid training). Goal is working up to a BW dip so around 190ish.

Been doing calisthenics since my late teens and weighted pulls and dips have always found there way into the program. It really does feel like the upper body squat.

Elevated “Pistols”

Trying to load my legs with maximum knee flexion without having to hunch over too much with my spine. These were actually pretty hard. Sets were around 10 reps.
