May I adjust my anti skate higher than recommended?
I have a Shure M97xe cartridge with a M95g stylus attached that I got second hand with my turntable. When I first got it it did sound great however when dropping the tone arm on the record it would skate forward and start too late. I got a tracking force meter and everything was dialed in correctly. I remedied the issue by adjusting the anti skate a bit higher. My question is are these concrete numbers or because there is some wear on the components with it being a 70s TT can I adjust it as needed to remedy to lurching forward when dropping the stylus. Also if I needed to adjust the anti skate higher should I match the tracking force or should I leave that dialed in and have the anti skate be a bit higher? Thanks in advance for any help.
