Stock parlays are better and more profitable than trading Options
Retail options trading is gambling dressed up as finance. Stock parlays are gambling that admits what it is. The parlay is the better product.
When you buy a weekly call on a meme stock you are making a directional bet, a volatility bet, and a timing bet, with a payoff structure designed to bleed you even when you are right. You pay a premium that decays daily. You cross wide spreads. You are trading against firms that price these things to fractions of a penny while you eyeball it.
A parlay is just yes or no. Does this stock do this thing by this date. The math is transparent, the risk is capped at what you put in, the payoff is fixed. Sportsbooks have offered this structure for a century and nobody pretends it's anything other than what it is.
The reason this opinion is unpopular is cultural. Options have a respectable veneer because Wall Street uses them. Parlays sound like a casino product. But for someone putting $50 on a directional view, the parlay is the better deal and the options trader is the one being conned.
