Farm/Work Pocket/On-Person EDC

I’ve got a bag, toolboxes, etc. with way more shit, but this is everything I usually carry in my pockets or on my person while I’m out in town/working or on my ranch.

It looks like a lot, but every item is surprisingly small. I’m 5 foot 7 in and 155 pounds, and I’m able to carry it all effortlessly.
You think it’d be more than I need, but I pretty much use everything here on the regular… aside from the SIG and the pepper spray. 😉

● SIG Sauer P238 HDW .380 — Federal Hydra-Shok Deep + spare mag
● Superfly Pocket holster
● POM pepper spray
● Kershaw Leek Pocket Knife
● KeyBar + small keychain tools/pry bar
● SwissTech mini multitool
● Olight + mini USB Olight
● Randolph Engineering Aviators w/ G-15 lenses + Hightide stainless case
● Hank’s Belts Leather bifold wallet
● iPhone 14 in Blue Suede Otterbox
● Shokz OpenRun
● German stainless cigarette case w/ hand-rolled tobacco
● Mini liquid-fuel lighter + Bic
● Sharpie

Milling a classic?

I've got an old nickel plated Jericho that I've had for many years. It's been a bag/fanny pack/open carry gun because it's far too large for me to conceal on my person.

It's my main defensive pistol, I love the weight and simplicity. I added Meprolight tritium sights and G10 roughneck LOK grips.

Recently I've thought about modernizing it with a red dot. I know the only option for that would be milling the slide as I don't like the dovetail mounts.

While I am hesitant the mill the classic original nickle slide, this isn't a collectors piece. It's got holster wear and a worn away finish on places. And it's a gun I don't state at, I want to use it regularly and for many years.

I made a quick ai render and I don't hate how it looks with a Holosun EPS Carry.

What would you do?
(Besides just buying another optics ready gun)

Part of the club

Just got mine.
It's the rereleased factory folder with the gov barrel, sampson stock and nickel plated mags.

Threw a sling, a cheek rise and a Holosun ARO EVO on it but it's such a nice shooter I think I'll actually replace it with a 3x Prism.

It was tight out the box, failed to feed after I fired the first round, but once I broke it in, it cycled well. Got 1-3 inch groupings at 50 yards. Ruger sent me the wrong sized tool for the pic rail screws. Other than that, pretty pleased with it. 1400 clams though 😬

New AK buyer here

Rancher and hunter going down the research rabbit hole as I acquire my 3rd rifle. I have a sporterized Springfield 1903 30/06 and a new Mini 14 556 Factory folder I recently bought.

Wanting a second semi auto in 762. I enjoy the classic wood aesthetic which drew me to the WBP Jack.

But I've also heard that Arsenal makes a great AK, although more expensive and even more so if I put wood furniture.

I've also thought of a gen 1 Galil Ace... but I am a 5ft 7 155lb guy and so the lighter the gun the better

Or is there an older gun like a WASR I should consider?

Looking for something simple, reliable, handsome and fun. Geez... sounds like a tinder profile.

Anyone have any experience with these guns and can recommend?

Edit: "Old or new, under 2k for gun alone, plinking is handled by my Mini. I want an intermediate battle/emergency gun."

First time buying sunglasses over $15.

I am a rancher and homesteader so traditional gas station aviators get destroyed or scratched beyond repair.

So I decided to invest in a better pair.

These are a pair of early 2000s 52/140mm Randolph engineering frames with G15 Fuse pro lenses I bought from eBay.

Thoughts?

Too small? These are military style aviators so I know they run small.

I have crooked ears so I really had to message the frames so that the fit straight on my head...

Restore current truck or buy a fresher one.

Wondering if it’s time to pass this on and use the cash to step into a cleaner 3rd gen or maybe the right extended cab 12 valve manual.

Mine's been the ultimate workhorse. This old 24v auto has never left me stranded, helped me get my business off the ground, and runs the farm like a champ. But she's getting long in the tooth at 420,000 miles (yes, it’s a 53 block!)

I’ve done my best to keep her dialed in and working hard:
Upgraded the fuel system
Rebuilt the suspension and steering and U-joints
Shocks, sensors and a bunch of other bits
Clean frame
Reupholstered the seats
Reman VP and Aftermarket TC
Serviced religiously

But the nickel-and-dime stuff is starting to pile up faster than I can clear it.
The current laundry list:
Leaking axles & a leaking rear window
Transmission governor sensor needs replacing (3-4 flair)
Front drive shaft needs a rebuild
Brake pad slap
Squeaking interior that's literally vibrating apart
Stained carpets & a sagging headliner
A cab corner that needs patching
Needs a new bed
Bumper is kissed by a tree (plus the usual dents/dings)

I’m a capable mechanic and none of this is impossible, but I’ve just got too many other projects on my plate right now.
