Purchased a set of foglights from Extremeterrain.com . they shipped them to me direct from Amazon, they were the same junk fog lights I got from amazon a year ago that I was trying to replace. only cost more.
I have a new holley 4160 on a 302 ford in a 32 roadster that has a low rpm surge at part throttle . . I have been through all the adjustments and the only way I was able to completely get rid of the surge was to reduce the base ignition timing to 0 degrees. float level is correct, idle speed 600 rpm (manual trans) 19" vacuum at idle , throttle plate looks to be adjusted correctly, transfer slots uncovered just slightly. mallory dual point dist, no vacuum advance. accel pump is adjusted correctly.. changed the pump squirter from a 30 to a 35. (this took care of a stumble on accel. ) carb works well otherwise. spark plug color looks a bit lean. is there a way to richen up the idle circuit a bit more? I adjusted the mixture screws on rich side of highest vacuum /best idle, but that didn't seem to make any difference.
2006 Ford escape, 3.0l 2wd CD4E rebuilt transmission failed after 20k miles. I disassembled the transmission and found the forward sprag, forward planetary and related bushings burn't and froze up. Forward Drum looks ok, didn't crack or break at the snap ring. Transmission had a lot of metal shavings in the fluid. The valve body has already had the Transgo CD4E JR kit installed correctly, So I am wondering why I am seeing this failure so soon after a rebuild. I did find what looks like a fine piece of steel wire (See photo) in the PR valve bore , could be a burr from when the PR bushing was installed. Not sure if this could have the caused the failure as it wasn't hanging up the PR valve. I am kind of reluctant to rebuild this trans when I am not sure what caused the failure , what else in the trans should I look for that may have caused the damage?
