From my D1 days

Been cleaning out my garage, found a pre-release Oculus Quest 2 box, and found something I'd completely forgotten about—a Music of the Spheres promo CD that Marty O'Donnell gave me during the original Destiny development.

I saw they released a vinyl set!

I worked on Destiny years ago, left before D1 ship though they graciously gave me (and others) a credit. I def had my challenges working at the studio - IMO they really gave people with tenure a lot of political capital, and this has been sitting in storage ever since.

From what I remember, these weren't widely distributed internally, so it's a pretty interesting piece of Destiny history. IIRC there was a ton of controversy around the music, esp with Marty falling out with the studio.

First coconut milk ice cream!

Coconut milk, cocoa powder and coconut sugar. Turned out pretty powdery even after respin. Tasty tho! I’ll get coconut cream next time to help the creamy texture.

Inspired by BongoCat!

I've been a fan of virtual pets since I got Nintendogs after a childhood of my parents telling me that I couldnt have a dog. I became a game dev (I worked on Rock Band, Destiny and Plants vs Zombies 2)... Fast forward to my time at Oculus, when my team shipped Bogo (a demo that featured a axolotl-inspired critter!

My family rescued a dog, and then I got laid off from Meta. But I still had this love of virtual pets, even when I had one. We shipped a game for VR, Stay: Forever Home - which was critically well received by players - but VR's been tough. So we brought our magical pet to PC. But the idea of our VR pet - one that could live in your living room through Mixed Reality, and then go to a magic world, Virtual Reality... felt impossible to replicate.

Until one of my former PopCap designer pals suggested we look at Bongocat! So the idea of Stay: Desktop Adventures was born! Our idea - an overlay pet driven by the same NPC AI (not genAI!) that goes across ALL our games, but on your desktop - and if you get the main PC game, a place to take her to explore her world!

Come wishlist our game, join the Discord for playtests - it's a very different experience than Bongocat - sort of like her big city fox cousin - more like a Tamagotchi in Bongocat clothing!
