I built a game console myself and wrote a few small games for it.

I built a retro handheld game console myself and wrote a few retro-style games for it. I’ve also been thinking lately about what kind of games—beyond the classic *Breakout*—could be played using a switch that only moves left and right. I did some brainstorming and came up with these demos;

If you have any good ideas, please feel free to leave a comment. (English isn't my native language, so I used Google Translate.)

I made a handheld game console with only one knob.

It is powered by an STM32H7-series microcontroller, and every game is controlled using a single spring-loaded knob that returns to the center when released. To make the device genuinely playable, I created five game demos in different styles. The enclosure is 3D-printed, and I may add a button in the future to support more complex game controls.

I made an ECG demo for my project——Easing-Point.

Easing-Point is a gaming device with a built-in mmWave radar sensor. Recently, I’ve been exploring different possibilities for Easing-Point because I want to make the most of what the radar can do.

That’s why I created this ECG-style demo. It may eventually be used in one of Easing-Point’s built-in games, although I haven’t decided exactly how yet. I thought it looked pretty interesting, so I wanted to share it with you.

I’m redesigning the exterior of one of my older projects. What do you think of this render?

This is actually a contactless heart rate and breathing monitor project that I open-sourced quite a long time ago. Back then, I didn’t pay much attention to the appearance, so I quickly came up with a rather ugly enclosure and built the structure around it. Now I’d like to redesign the exterior and make it look more appealing. These are some renders I created using design tools based on the original project. What do you think?

I made a radar-based treasure hunting feature for my project Easing-Point

I built a fun new feature for my project, Easing-Point, using a 60GHz mmWave radar sensor.

Since mmWave radar works by detecting tiny movements, a 60GHz radar can detect things like heart rate, breathing, and human movement. I parsed the raw data from the radar sensor and extracted my position as X and Y coordinates.

In the video, the little pet icon represents my real-time position, while the treasure chest represents a randomly placed item somewhere near me. When I physically move around my living room and reach the chest’s position, it means I’ve captured it.

The only thing I’m not fully happy with is that the position update isn’t as responsive as I’d like. I haven’t found a better solution for that yet, but I’ll keep improving it.

If you have any good suggestions, I’d be happy to have a friendly discussion.

Easing-Point: a game console that can be controlled with just a toggle switch

It can play a few simple games now, but because the casing is 3D printed, there's a large gap around the switch, as you can see in the video. The switch isn't very sensitive either. Here are some of the main components:

- The main controller is an STM H7

- The screen is a 2.4-inch LCD screen

- The toggle switch is a RES-G01

- It has a built-in HLK-LD6002 millimeter-wave radar

To be honest, we've spent a long time designing this device. The next iteration is underway. Feel free to comment if you have any suggestions. Thank you !!!!

I created a game console that can remind me not to work too much.

Hello everyone

I built a weird little thing. It can sense my heartbeat — no touching required. Just millimeter-wave radar. At first, I just wanted a way to check my heart rate while I worked — whether I was actually focused, or quietly burning out without noticing.

But a raw number on a screen felt kind of cold. So I added a pixel cat.

The cat reacts to how I'm working: the more focused I am, the more alive it gets — its colors slowly fill in and brighten. But if I push too long without a break, it starts to look exhausted — like it's telling me "hey, go rest." And sometimes when I need to slack off for a bit, I just flick the little switch next to it, and it turns into a handheld game.

I casually filmed a video demonstrating its game features. I didn't film the pixel pet's growth process. as you can see.

Next up, I want to make it slimmer, redesign the pixel pet, and fix the parts that don't quite make sense yet.

If you have any thoughts — whether you think something's dumb, or you wish it did something different — drop it in the comments. I read everything. :)

One more thing: I have two prototype units sitting here. If you're in the US and want one, reach out — I'll ship it to you for free. All I ask is that after you've used it for a bit, you tell me what you honestly think. Thank you !!!!!

I created a game console that can detect my fatigue level.

I created a rather useless, odd device using millimeter-wave radar. The device's pixelated pet tracks my heart rate and sedentary time using the radar to synchronize with my fatigue level. When I first start working, the pixelated pet gradually grows as I work. If I work for too long, the pet appears tired, reminding me to get up and move around. I also added a joystick for simple game controls, allowing me to easily slack off while working. I filmed a short video demonstrating how it works; since I'm not a filmmaker, I adjusted the pet's growth time for easier recording. If you have any ideas—whether you think the design is flawed or you'd like to add features—feel free to leave a comment. I'll read them all carefully.

I also have two prototypes. If you're in the US and want one, contact me, and I'll ship it to you for free—the only condition is that you use it for a while and let me know your honest feedback.

I made a laptop accessory that can display my work status.

I use millimeter-wave radar to estimate my work and sedentary lifestyle. If I've just started working, this pixelated pet will frantically type on the keyboard; if I overwork, it will crash. I'll record another video demonstrating its use in a few days.

I created a boot animation for my new embedded project.

This is an embedded project I'm currently working on; it's a device similar to a handheld game console. The current boot animation might be a bit simplistic, but I'll gradually optimize it later.
