6x8 pad. Looking a design to utilize the foot print.

I got this pad that I was kicking around the idea of building a sauna on. Looking for a good design to utilize the space. Location is northern Alberta - what would I have to do for a floor? Power can be trenched but not opposed to a wood stove at first.

Anyone got higher miles on an HD11?

Looking at getting a HD11 max limited. Sold my 2018 single cab XT as the family went from 0 kids to 3 in 3 years. Any high mileage reviews? The HD10’s seemed bulletproof for the most part.

Looking for some ideas on how to make it more “finished”

Far from complete but at least it’s now usable. Can keep it as a single bed or put the inserts in and make it all bed. Going to order some foam off Amazon. She’s not perfect but it’s a very slow working progress. Would like to get some ideas on ways to make it a bit for finished… original idea was to rug the interior but that just more places to collect dirt - Maybe paint the interior.

Planted these green ash 10 days ago, have some questions

I noticed that the stem (trunk?) of quite a few of them are brown and then change to green, is that a sign of anything? Normal? Also some of my leaves are being eaten by something I believe.

Progress.

Managed to get a few more hours into it since the last post… got the expandable bed figured out. Now just need to cut in hand slots into each piece, router bit to round the edges, sand, finish, sand, finish, sand, finish… pieces will either be stored where you see them or under the flip up single bed.

My grandpa wants to know what his scout is worth

As per title - 1979 scout 2 traveller. located in Alberta Canada. Only rust I can find without crawling underneath is on the rear quarter panels. Not sure about the frame, hoping to get it out of the shop and onto a trailer so I can give it a wash and a good look through. All components seem to be there, glass is good and interior and engine bay are in great shape. I’m kicking around the idea of buying it.

Slow progress.

Finally got the flip up bed built. Still need to build the slide out end drawer.

Also going to make it so the whole thing can be a bed.. would love to hear some ideas on the simplest way to do that. My current thought is adding a strip of 3/4” plywood the length of the bed and also one on the opposing side on the fibreglass so that I can drop plywood down on it when I need more bed space. The plywood for the extra bed space could be cut into a few smaller pieces.

Gun for trail running?

Looking for something to carry while trail running. Currently have a mossberg 500 which I can strap decently tight to me but is a bit cumbersome at times. Yes I pack bear spray, but I’m in remote northern Alberta and like to have a few options.

2017 with 240,000km and the drivers side turbo is shot. Have any of you done one? Is it worth using aftermarket turbos or stick with OEM? Dealership wants $3000 can. 680 of that being labour. I have no issue doing the work, but the labour actually seems very reasonable. Parts I am questioning however… turbos 1300 but they got $650 in a few different “TUBE ASY” . Seems unnecessary
