Contd: Couple young players spent extra time at their stalls and got some pats on back by lingering veterans as media started

Apparently Michkov deleted or locked down his Instagram. I have a really bad feeling tonight. I really hope Briere did not panic trade Michkov away. If so we are beyond fucked.

Wizards needs to go back to Three Set blocs for Conclusions of Major Storylines

I think a lot of the issues I’m seeing from a lot of the people with the end of reality fracture can be boiled down to that issue. When you spend years building to a climax, and then have to rush said climax, it feels unsatisfying. I loved the writing for this set. It was amazing. Alison Lührs is a great author. So give her at least two sets to tell the story. I had the same issue with the New Phyrexian multiverse invasion storyline. That ending was so soooo rushed. Like way worse than this was rushed. And it ruined what was otherwise an amazing build. I definitely don’t think the Jace Echoverse story is ruined by the ending being rushed, but it could have been more/better.

I feel like part of this also comes down to all the Universes Beyond sets being released each year now. Like they don’t want to pause a multi-bloc set/story for 2-3 UB sets. But I just don’t think that’s wise. What made the Urza/Yawgmoth story conclusion feel earned and satisfying? A nice three set bloc epic story.

Am I crazy for feeling this way?

The G6 Playoff Debate is Done

I don’t want to hear another word about how the G6 doesn’t deserve an autobid and should instead have its own playoffs. UMass just beat the dogshit out of Rutgers. And this isn’t some isolated occurrence. Every single year, when P4 teams actually schedule G6 teams, they lose. Look at last year. We beat UF. Memphis beat Arkansas. Tulane beat Northwestern AND Duke. UNLV beat UCLA.

The P4 obviously have bigger NIL Budgets, but they regularly lose to G6 teams. The best G6 teams are clearly better than the lower end P4 teams. So why should we be forced to suffer the indignation of an FCS style playoff? Until there is relegation, there cannot and should not be a separation for playoffs.

I want to apologize

Perhaps I was a bit harsh on Daniel Briere. After watching Mike Grier completely torpedo his teams bright future by trading for Nurse with Zero Retention, and paying Trouba $8.25 mill for four years, I realize that I was wayyyyy to negative. Danny might not be the best drafter, but he has done right by us in terms of pro level scouting, and getting good value, and he is elite when it comes to making trades. I can’t believe I was actually glazing San Jose in the draft day threads. I’m glad we didn’t do anything stupid or crazy today. I like the TyFo deal. I like that we didn’t overpay any FAs or overpay for a trade. I really like that the leafs didn’t improve meaningfully. All things considered today was a good day.

So much fun in Limited

Won me two games because my opponent didn’t have removal to deal with her and she flooded the board FAST with squirrel tokens. Already my favorite card from this set
