I've started dehydrating vegetable scraps together with excess produce, either bought or from the garden including carrot peel & the outer leaves of cabbage, lettuce etc to make a green powder.

The powder is then used to fortify soups, stews etc & hopefully (covertly) boost my families veg intake whilst reducing waste.

I acknowledge that many veg are 90%+ water, so the result is "concentrated" however I would respectfully ask:

1. Is Green powder worth the cost in electric?

2. Does it retain sufficient nutrients to make it worthwhile?

3. If 2, what other leaves can be added?

Started thinking about what happens when I finally give up the ghost & what I want to leave behind....

Being half or more, drunk tonight, I thought that a granite slab with a chessboard inscribed would do the job. Seats on either side at a local (popular) beach & a perspect(?) Inset with (part of) my & Mrs's ashes mixed into each square - naturally mine would be black as herself is the light of my life.

Players bring their own pieces, Ouija boards welcome. Feel free to spill a beer or three on the table!

Just received weekly delivery with a "gift" of 5 plastic mesh bags "for the next time I shop in person" Usually 35c each.

Knowing that they do not usually "gift" stuff without an ulterior motive (see bag for good, free replacement now discounted), I suspect that paper vegetable bags are shortly to be discontinued - no doubt with the excuse that it prevents "naughty" people scanning their bagged avocadoes etc as carrots!

No doubt in a year or two, we'll be told to use the (now charged for) bags or let the vegetables roll free across the scales!

How things change, but ultimately remain the same!

We were probably the last generation to grow up with SAHM, we also grew up eating weird/unusual foods. Now that society forces both parents to work, what are the weirdest foods you have "preped" for your child's breakfast to save time in the morning?

Pies, Sausage Rolls, Pizza, cooked or sliced meat & bread?

Situation- late 50's, female, several pre-existing conditions which have necessitated operations under partners long term insurance. Unable to maintain premiums due to unemployment. Only option appears to be cancelation & try to get insured again when things get better.

Thoughts? Comments?
