Week 6 and 7 fragmented sleep 😴

What on earth is week 6 and 7 doing, previously our baby was able to do longer first stretches and then the next few stretches would be around 2-3hours, now the first stretch is lucky to be 2 hours and then all sleeps after that we get maximum 45 minutes before waking and from like 2am onwards contact sleeping is the only way, is this just because of the week 6-8 changes that occur? Does it get better, because we are so severely sleep deprived 😅😅

Feeling defeated 😞 I tried to feed my baby overnight but it wouldn’t work

I tried to feed my 4 week old baby overnight but they kept fussing at the breast, knocking off my nipple shields and kept unlatching and relatching and then screaming when they couldn’t relatch 😞 it got to the point where I used 2 x bottles of expressed milk, has this happened to anyone else I feel like breastfeeding is just not working sometimes 😞

3 Week Old just slept 6 hours straight is this okay 😅

My LO just slept 6 hours straight, some context she was awake for 4 hours before that clustering and feeding lots and very unsettled (6pm-10pm) in those four hours she fed multiple times and had very wet nappies, and then she just slept for 6hours…. When she woke up her nappy was very wet too and we just fed her two feeds worth. She seems very settled and happy. She also was above her birth weight by two weeks, and in the last week has jumped up by 10 percentiles in weight compared to birth, in the 6 hour sleep normal and okay? 😅

For anyone who used nipple shields how long did you breastfeed for and did baby ever latch?

I currently have a 2.5 week old newborn who has been unable to latch to my nipples without a nipple shield, the lactation consultant said it’s due to flat nipples and tough tissue around my nipples, has anyone successfully managed to get a baby to latch in time without shields? I’ve already had to switch to bottles of expressed milk for majority of feeds as the shields aren’t the best at night and get whacked off and baby fusses more and gets all upset 😢

How do you do the sleeping arrangements?

Currently my husband and I are taking shifts, he goes to our bedroom to sleep or I do, and then the other stays in the living room with our baby and her bassinet, what is everyone else doing? We tried putting her down to sleep in her bassinet in our room at night with us in bed next to her but she kept waking up any advice would be lovely as we are confused how to do this 😅

Mentally struggling with breast feeding and pumping and considering formula feeding

Hi All,
I’ve got a two week old and I was EBF up until day 12, however mentally I’ve been struggling, I had a very traumatic birth which was an emergency with a large PPH, my baby then couldn’t latch, so I’ve been using nipple shields, one of my breasts is basically useless unless I have help breastfeeding, both my husband and I were getting no sleep as I needed his help to breastfeed, I’m now struggling to keep up with the pumping demands - especially as I’ve been told nighttime pumping is better because of the melatonin, I just don’t see this being feasible for the future, would love some positivity surrounding formula feeding as the pressure to breastfeed is everywhere and my mental health is not good and usually I am the happiest person 😞

Please help newborn struggling to sleep at night

Hi all, our little one turned 1 week yesterday and we are struggling really badly at nighttime to get her to sleep. She was EBF but last night we topped up with some expressed milk as she just wouldn’t settle. Every night from about 8-9ish she goes crazy for the food and just wants to eat none stop, we try putting her down to sleep after feeding whilst she’s in her deep sleep cycle but she always wakes in the bassinet and then starts fussing and wants the breast all over again, and then continues until 1am where she finally falls asleep. Are we doing something wrong, why is she awake so long? This leads her to be so overstimulated by the time we finally get her down. It’s not like we can contact nap as she doesn’t want to contact nap at night either she just wants to feed 😞 Please help

How many times have you watched the series? 😅

I’m currently on my fourth rewatch and I already want to go back and rewatch it again and I’ve read the first three books already 😂 Does the obsession ever end after a number of rewatches

Baby measuring small at 34 weeks dropped from 31st percentile to 18th percentile in 6 weeks

Hi all,

I’m really worrying here, my baby was measuring at the 31st percentile at 28 weeks but now at 34 weeks baby is measuring in the 18th percentile, my doctor said we will need to recheck in two weeks, and if they are smaller I might have to be induced sooner. For reference I was born around the 3rd percentile for weight, my partner and I are both tiny 5ft 1 and 5ft 6, I’m just really worrying as we’ve had quite a few ups and downs this pregnancy, anyone have a similar situation or can offer some advice please 🥺
