Feeling Stuck In My Major

I initially started as a CS major and recently had to switch to IT due to failing the same math course and having to go to a community college.

I don’t feel like i’ve learned much in either major CS or IT. I’m not sure what’s ahead and it’s been in the back of my mind this past week.

I’m afraid that after everything, going through this will have been for nothing and that i’ll end up working retail for the rest of my life.

I love the tech field. I find coding to be so fun, and struggling to find the answer is so worth it. But, I also feel like i haven’t learned anything. I’ve taken intro to python, java and C++, SQL, and through it all, it feels like nothing is clicking.

Does this feeling go away, or am I wasting my time?

Elgato HD60 Not popping up on laptop

I got an Elgato HD 60 from a friend who never used it aside from the wires and I can’t get it to pop up on my laptop so that I can stream from my gaming PC over to it. I’m getting confused answers on whether using a USB 2.0 or 3.0 will solve the issue and I’m getting frustrated. What else can I do?

It shows up on my gaming PC as Elgato game capture HD, but I don’t see anything on my laptop. I’ve made sure that the HDMI in is connected to my gaming, PC and HDMI out connected to my monitor with the USB being connected to the laptop.

EDIT: For some reason, downloading the driver for Windows 8 did the trick even though i’m on 11. Not gonna question it, more than happy to just have it working!

Upgrade Second Hand PC!

Hello! I have had this PC that was a hand me down for the past 2ish years and have never thought to change things up, as I know nothing about pcs.

Recently, I've been getting back into using my PC for gaming, which has never let me down. But, I've gotten into streaming/recording and video editing, and would like to know what to upgrade.

I've heard AMD is the holy grail, and I've considered getting more storage but might just get an external hard drive

These are the specs

Intel Core i5-9400F 2.9 GHz 6-Core Processor
Deepcool GAMMAXX 400 V2 64.5 CFM CPU Cooler
Gigabyte B365M DS3H WIFI Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
Crucial CT2K8G4DFRA266 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-2666 CL19 Memory
Samsung 970 Evo Plus 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 3.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive
NVIDIA Founders Edition GeForce RTX 3070 8 GB Video Card
iBuypower Trace 7 Mesh Pro ARGB ATX Mid Tower Case

Gaming at regular/high specs at high frames is okay, sometimes I have to lower settings

I also want to get into streaming/recording/video editing, and doing the first 2 seems to give some issues on my pc

Streaming/Recording webcam and video separately

Hello! I’m new to using OBS and was wondering how i’d be able to record and stream both my pc and webcam simultaneously for future editing?

For recording i’ve already been able to capture my webcam and screen so that I can edit, but am wondering if I can do the same when it comes to streaming as well?

I’ve been getting back to doing my hair and it’s a hit and miss. The biggest thing is maintaining it throughout the week. Don’t get me wrong, I love a curly fro/messy curls, but i’d like to learn how to maintain definition throughout the week.

My routine consisted of

Shampoo 2x with TGIN moisturizing shampoo

Detangling and Conditioning with Mielle honey and pomegranate conditioner

Using Skala as leave in / + eco styling gel

For styling I applied the skala and then used my fingers to rake the gel through in 4 sections and let it air dry.

I go to sleep sectioning my hair in 4s (front/bangs, top of the head, and 2 in the back ends of my hair), with a bonnet. Most I do for a refresh is shaking it when I wake up.

There’s 2 photos for Sunday, Monday and today.
