I took these changes from Reform’s ‘Our Contract With You’ manifesto from the 2024 GE.

If they enacted these changes, how much better off would you be each year?

INCOME TAX RATES (0%-20%-40%-45%):

Current: £0-£12,570-£50,270-£125,140

Proposed: £0-20,000-£70,000-£125,000

PRIVATE HEALTHCARE:

20% tax relief on private healthcare and health insurance payments

PRIVATE SCHOOL FEES:

20% tax relief on private school fees

I won’t give the breakdown for each area but this scheme would bag me £9,443 a year that wouldn’t go to the tax system.

How well do others do?

Note: they also propose the lifting of the inheritance tax cap from £1m to £2m per couple (as long as it includes a house going to children/grandchildren) and the rate being reduced from 40% to 20%

The traffic in and around Harrogate is a joke, and has been commented on for as long as I can remember.

but I’m curious, I’ve no idea how to solve it so what are people’s suggestions? It seems to me there’s just no where to speed flow or reroute around bottlenecks.

Better busses? By-passes? How do we fix it?

I know, I know, everyone wants tickets to see this band but hoping I get lucky and there’s someone out there with an extra or even a pair. You‘ve got to try!
