Two unique SAR

I’m more of an x95 guy but these were different enough I wanted to add them to the mix. The Tar21 is a 300blk with a G bow and pack. The the cTar is a rebuilt parts kit built to semi auto. I’m sure there will be more of the ctar showing up once a new receiver is available.

ctar kit rail

I found a rail I was able to mount to the gas block. It’s a YHM riser. A little work was needed to make it fit but it’s a good option. One of the only ones currently.

Bolt lever Nexus lower.

Got my bolt catch lever finally finished. Got it back from cerakote. Fits perfect and way easier to use with both the trigger finger and the off hand. Both for activating the bolt latch and releasing it.

CTar parts kit came in. This will be a fun project.

I think the pair will look great together.

Nexus bolt lever

Did a couple revisions from the one yesterday. I think this is my file one. The other one functioned great but there were both cosmetic and function that i wanted to change up.

Small hand problem lol

Small hands and short fingers made it hard to reach the Nexus bolt release. Made a new one that’s hopefully easier to reach. Milled it out of aluminum.

Here she is running. 308 T7 SMRT Pack

Here is the Secondary Mechanical Restricting Trigger Pack (SMRT) in the Tavor 7. Yes it’s only 2 positions. Yes this is the first of its kind. I took the idea from the x95 pack and fitted it to the T7. Now to take it apart. Measure the parts to get a baseline of what works. Throw lots of rounds though it and measure the parts again.

Tavor 7 gets extra safe.

Dry fire testing works. I was able to tweak the Tavor x95 SMRT pack design to work with the 7. It does need some machining of the receiver though. Nothing notable from the outside and nothing that will be an issue going back to the semi auto pack.

Stripped t7

In the process of making a SMRT pack for the T7. There was a big issue as the receiver lacked the notch for the trip like the 5.56 versions have. This meant that the whole thing had to be taken down to go on the mill.

Figured you guys would like to see what the inside of the 7 looks like.

A couple of 9mm frt testing.

Testing out the tavor trigger pack in a 9mm and running some more rounds though the OEM Kuna lower.

Tavor x95 going extra safe.

I’ve been working on a trigger pack for the x95 for a while. 6 years ago. Figured I get back on the project. Here is a video of it running. 12.5” barrel chopped with direct thread form 1 can. Oal with the can is about the same as a standard rifle. Lightning bow trigger but other then that my pack design.

Back before this group even existed.

Years ago before all the drama, lawsuits, and decent home printers. I was working on this. Maybe I’ll finish it up here. Those thank know, know.

Sexy but you’ll never see it from the outside

This was such a PITA to make. Printing is way easier but sometimes plastic just won’t do.

Detents are important

I’m working on machining the safety for the 3 position. I am also going back to the TURD style lever and activator. It’s going in a new housing. So no more crying about using ideas 🙄. No the housing doesn’t tilt to achieve semi. Maybe some of the smart ones will figure out how it works 😉.

Test units assembled

Still working on making the metal parts but for now I was able to assemble a few lowers for testing.

I know it doesn’t look much different than the available drop in, it’s different where it matters.

Stock housing 3 position

It’s a rough proof of concept but it works.

3 position on an OEM lower. No modifying of the OEM lower.

The activator, lever are housing uses a modified versions of the u/yourbroseveo

Buffer limiter

So I’m really trying to keep with the Springfield lower and solve the little issues instead of using the Nexus lower.

Still working on then 3 position frt but wanted to address a limited stroke that will work with it.

Made a buffer spacer to move it in roughly .25”. This does several things for the system. It will reduce the stroke of the bolt to hopefully prevent any spent casing from getting into the trigger area, speed up cycle time a little bit. I’m looking into different stiffer springs now as with the shorter stroke, you can use a stiff spring because not as much bolt velocity is needed to travel that distance.

Last this with the frt perspective is that it allows the trip to travel the full distance it did before but the bolt to stop short. This create a substantially larger pocket for a lever to rest in.
