Absolute hatred for a conquest map…

The map is literally called Hills and I’m recently playing a hardcore conquest game. I attacked it just fine but they attacked it twice and every time I lose a lot of units due to the enemy being able to get so close due to the hills. I got a defense on this map a third and final time and I couldn’t change it so I cheese my way through it because f this map I hate it. I surrounded two objectives with tank traps and I between my tank traps I placed barbed wire. While it did work I’ve found out new things about conquest.

  1. If the enemy has sappers the AI will blow up tank traps now before they never did this but I’m not complaining I thought it was pretty cool to narrowly watch my cheese strat almost fail.

  2. The AI always knows where your units are. I accidentally locked out some of my engineers from the safety of the objective so I threw them into the opposite corner of the map than their spawn and I proned them in a dug mortar pit.

  3. It appears the AI regardless of difficulty only spawn in waves so if the first wave is never defeated they almost never deploy more units.

With that being said here are some screenshots for proof and memes

New players wanting an in depth understanding of Gates of Hell: Ostfront

I have finished my first video in a multipart series of in depth guides on Gates of Hell! I hope you enjoy and I’m sorry for the length but I describe almost all of my actions on why I’m making the decisions I make. Every following video won’t be as in-depth and will be more focused towards the actual objective. My goal is to allow the player to eventually make their own decisions and understand why I made a choice or see my mistakes without me telling them directly. Hopefully this helps some newer players feel more comfortable and confident while playing!

Video in the works for the newer players!!!!

Some of you may have seen my recent post about asking newer players what they struggle with most. I’ve created a video and am currently editing it to better help the community of new players understand the game. I recorded it and put it in a way that I am describing what I’m doing because I want viewers to understand what I am thinking. I want people to understand why I am making the choices I am in order to help encourage them to make similar choices so that way they can achieve their goal and enjoy the game. I absolutely love this game and I want more people to enjoy it. I will post the link here when finished but I also want to state that the first video is absolute basics I’m describing everything every key bind every movement why I’m making it etc. but every following video will be more complex. My goal is to get to a point where I’m only showing my complex movements without explaining every fine detail and (hopefully) the player watching can look at my map and diagnose what to do before I even tell them if that makes sense.

I love this game and I love you all I’m glad to be apart of a community so great as this and shout out to barbed wire studios for making such a great dlc that turned into an even better game❤️❤️❤️❤️ I’ve been playing since almost day one!

New players struggling with the games single player/Conquest I have a question for you.

Hello, I’ve posted here many times before I absolutely love this game been playing since release! I’ve noticed an influx of new players to the game and see many struggling to grasp either the concept of the game, strategies going into certain scenarios, or how to best use equipment in single player/Conquest. So I’ve got the bright idea that maybe I’ll make some videos and post them to YouTube to help people understand the game better and make it more fun for people. My main questions for newer players are.

What do you struggle with most in this game?

Do you struggle with strategies on how to best combat the AI on harder difficulties?

What is something you want to learn about this game?

Thank you for your time much appreciated I’m hoping to help new players understand the game better but I don’t want to make videos on something that people understand so I figured I’d ask the community what it is they struggle with most

▲ 101 r/Omaha

Fun fact I found out today that the Enola gay and Bockscar (the planes that dropped the nuke on Hiroshima and Nagisaki) were built in Bellevue.

Omaha was a big part of the war effort for World War Two and everyday I find something new about our wonderful city. I love this place the history is rich here.

I don’t usually do biographies in this game but I spent the better part of an hour crafting this new empire and was wondering if it’s decent critiques or criticism welcome. Previous console player but I’m on PC now. I’m going for if Axis won World War Two but then another war during the atomic age (in which no nukes were used but came really close) made the world be eventually unified under one flag and reaching for the stars. Only to be vassalized by a fallen empire shortly after reaching space. This in turn rages the planet which is where the xenophobic trait comes from. The militarist trait comes from the urge to break free and materialist for the extra industrial power needed to break free.

Here’s a zoom on the empires biography:

The United Imperial Nations were a Pre-FTL species and after the Second Great war were unified by a Germanic, Italian, and Japanese victory. But peace only lasted so long. during the atomic age another struggle for power was brought upon do to land disputes and unrest in occupied territory. After the 2096 Unification war leaders from across the globe created a single bodied government. Just as space walks began in 2103 so did the discoverence of extraterrestrials.

And here’s a zoom on my leaders biography:

Forged in the shadow of the Unification War and the quiet humiliation of vassalage, Vera S. Lockhart rose from the new Imperial order with a singular purpose: to ensure humanity bows to no one again. Patient, calculating, and devout in her belief in human supremacy once the chain snaps.
