Monster in winter and blue dots

I read a kids or teen book a while back about a boy who is being hunted by this monster in a place that's very cold. Maybe it was winter?

I distinctly remember he had a blue dot almost like a pen mark on his hand and so did the other people were being hunted by this monster.

At some point there's a scene where he's talking to an older man who has been running from this monster for years who lives in a trailer and eats dog food.

The ending of Yesteryear

I just finished Yesteryear and overall enjoyed it. It wasn't my usual read but it was definitely interesting and an intense experience for an audiobook.

However there were a few things I was a little confused on. *Spoilers ahead*

Later in the book when she's talking to her father-in-law she says her inside thoughts out loud. When they are showing the footage of her on the news is it implied that she had been saying her mean thoughts out loud the entire time and not realized it?

When it came to the assault of the producer. The way It was written made it sound like she tried to kill her but didn't I didn't read it as anything sexual. They do mention the girl's pants being down but she was half-dressed when Natalie came to the room in the first place. Did the producer exaggerate about the sexual assault or did I just miss something?

At the very end of the book Natalie is incarcerated. But why where her and Caleb not arrested beforehand when the kids first ran away from home? Why did they have to re-enter society to get arrested for their crimes?

And lastly, it seems really weird to me that Natalie is clearly still not mentally stable at the very end when they are getting ready to do the interview and yet Rena is going ahead with it anyway. Are we meant to believe that a news reporter would actually air an interview with someone that unwell?

Overall I did enjoy the book I would probably give it a solid 3 out of 5 ( the psychological stuff felt well done the plot was just a little floppy). I do think at times the pacing was a little off and I would have liked to see more examples interwoven of Natalie's spiral from her actions some how. Additionally, this was pretty intense to listen to as a new mom to a 5-month-old and while I am not struggling with it I probably wouldn't recommend this book to anyone who is dealing with intense postpartum.

Anywho tell me what y'all think.

Daily News podcast?

Can someone recommend a good daily News podcast that doesn't push an obvious agenda? I know that there's going to be some level of bias but if there's any out there that are good about just giving the facts it would be appreciated.

I am trying to stay away from social media for a while but don't want to be completely out of the loop on what's going on around me.

I should also note that I prefer to use Spotify if I can.

Teaching is a great career

I'm four years into teaching and this is honestly the best job I've ever had. Yes, it can be stressful and it took a while for me to really nail down a healthy work-life balance but, there's no denying that with all the time off and the pay that I get it's honestly a solid career.

There are things my coworkers get away with that would get you fired at any retail job (ex showing up late everyday, calling in all the time, straight up not doing their jobs some days).

And if you decide you don't want to stay in it forever it's a good stepping stone into other careers from what I could tell.

Obviously, I know not everyone is paid well especially in more rural areas. Not to mention that there are stressful aspects of the job both from dealing with the kids and from nonsense from higher ups. But at the end of the day I've worked way worse jobs, for way longer hours and way shittier pay.

Tamodachi life

I made Shen Qingqiu and Luo Binghe in my Tamodachi life game. So far Binghe has been simping super hard for Qingqiu but keeps getting rejected. He even suggested they move in together and was denied. Half the time when I check on him he blushing and thinking of Qingqiu. it is both hilariously close to canon and sad all at once.
