Bass has weak tuning stability. Can someone educate me if this is (visibly) caused by binding at the nut?
It goes sharp often, and just in general falls out of tune easily. I'm not great at eyeing things like this as I am new, so I'm wondering if anyone can tell me what's visibly wrong - if anything.
My guess is the nut slots aren't filed towards the tuner.
40-95 gauge, and the nut action looks fine.
The cycle of Shotzzy and Hydra starting slow to start many years continues on
In MW3 it was the same shit said about Hydra how he just isn't the same anymore, BO6 less so but was still far from peak form, and especially BO7 this happened. And still every year we have people overreacting about their performances stage 1 and stage 2 thinking they're falling off.
Real ball knowers didn't give that much of a shit about Shotzzy dropping 0.7 and 0.8s stage 1 because this has happened many times before.
Shocker that they're back in peak form at the end of the year just like every year. Stage 1 BO6 Carolina was looking insane until LAN. It doesn't really mean much
MW2's HP maps are my 2nd favorite in all of CDL
MW3 obviously being #1. Only other one I could argue is CW - BO7 maps to me are way too 1 dimensional overall
Idk the overall community opinion on it, so maybe a hot take?
Hotel in my eyes is a top tier map
Fortress was an enjoyable bang out - especially to watch
Embassy / Mercado were decent. I really liked how Mercado had 7 hills which was unique. I know many people didn't like embassy but it was enjoyable to me
Hydro definitely had issues for sure. Minimum it was fun for me to watch (except optic at champs). Some of the water routes were fucking stupid, and the hills were ehhhh. Considering the maps we've had in other games, it's far from the worst
This isn't taking into account deady and trash game game mechanics like snaking into account - just the maps thenselves. Like yes hotel kitchen hill was interesting to say the least, but that wasn't the map itself making it that bad
Do any of you have experience with stress related hair loss/thinning?
I'm a 25 year old male with clear noticeable hair thinning (someone I haven't seen in about 6 months pointed it out easily). I don't have an event that caused sudden stress, but it's generalized and it's clear my cortisol levels are very high. Thinking about humiliating situations can briefly put me in fight or flight mode
If my hair isn't combed a very certain way to the right, my hair loss is crystal clear. The reason I suspect it's stress related (besides the obvious anxiety), is it has zero consistent hair loss spots. It's all very random and prominent and you can see the bare spots easily. I have natural blonde hair which makes it even worse.
Getting right out of the shower it just looks awful. Does anyone with hair thinning relate to this?? I'll ask my doctor about it when I see him next, but this just sucks because I do believe it's stress related. I'm way too young to have this much thinning :(
It's less of a self conscious thing currently, and more hatred of looking at it, and I find it icky. It will definitely become a very self conscious view of it if it gets even worse
Anyone else find it difficult to play/try out basses at a guitar store?
It's definitely a playstyle / preference and feel thing, but damn it's sooo difficult for me to play them out the box - most of them. It's not a big deal at all, but it can definitely skew my view on how the instrument actually feels. I get it's like that partly so people will find it harder to spot defects before purchasing
Anyone got a similar experience?
I can't believe many of you have it worse than me
I only have perspective from my POV. Reading some of the shit I see in here is so sad :(
The title is obviously misleading because obviously I know people have it worse than me. But it's just hard to think about how shit life can be
My heart goes out to u <3
Now that we're on the topic: Rank the rookies as individual players
Kips
Lurqxx
Nium
Traixx
Wasp
The usual suspects are left out for obvious reasons
Anyone else feel like their timing is sluggish at improving compared to everything else?
About 7 years of playing bass (rough guess, it's complicated) and my timing should be way better than it is. I know the obvious answer is to practice more with a metronome or practice with better quality, but those are two things I have been working on getting taught by different professional musicians over the years. To me it's getting to the point where I believe my natural sense of rhythm is really bad - That said, I know I can improve (like every skill) and eventually get it to a comfortable position, just seemingly at a more frustrating pace.
Playing to a metronome is still very hard for me even with the amount of solid practice utilizing it, and without a metronome or drum track it's even worse - like really bad. I was in a band for years and kept time well, but it definitely gets exposed with less subdivisions. I do want to mention that learning rhythms and feeling them is particularly difficult, although once it's drilled in my brain I typically don't have an issue. Takes quite a bit of time though
Not really here to bitch and complain, I'm just explaining my experience and seeing if anyone can relate / has any advice.
Anyone else notice there are soooo many large comebacks in this game?
I think it's because this game at a high level is just a blender fest. It's pretty clear when every comeback is just pinning people back for 2 to 4 hills straight. I find this game to have much less exciting comebacks compared to previous years, and I think part of it is the headbash pace rather than a slower paced game
Do you think there's more pressure on players when the whole crowd is cheering or boo'ing you?
Definutely depends on the person/team, but my personal assumption is cheering - imo it's a double edge sword though. If you're frying it can hype you up, but if you're on the line in the tournament, disappointing the fans is rough
What are you favorite MC songs that have the best and most prominent basslines?
Bassist of 9 years and loving metalcore recently. Many songs in this genre the bass is buried quite a bit. Headache by MIW is a great example of a beautifully written bassline
Bass buzzes at bridge. I assume I need an angle adjustment?
Lmk if you need more info.
I put on a new neck I bought directly from fender (specifically made for this bass), and I assumed I would need spme extra adjustments. Can someone explain or tell by the pictures?
For context it's set up fine (except for this clearly)
Medium action, medium relief, and the nut slots are cut a bit high but workable. Didnt want to over do it before
The bridge just looked so off lol
